I can't stand Piers Morgan but I thought it was funny when he interviewed Matt Hancock about his suggestion that PL footballers should take a pay cut and asked whether Cabinet Ministers would also be taking a pay cut. Hancock, who always looks like he's just been asked to divide 47,723 by 679, looked very confused.

Footballers are a bit of an easy target.

Have hedge fund managers been asked to take a pay cut? My friend who is a hedgie is making a mutha ****in fortune out of the coronavirus inspired volatility in the markets. No idea whether he's donating any of the proceeds to charidee mate.

By the way some good coronavirus news - the NHS thinks it’s probably over prepared in terms of hospital beds and there are huge amounts of vacant beds (social distancing has so far meant capacity required is a lot lower than first feared).

They are preparing to increase the amounts of normal treatments being offered, so those who have had stuff put on hold due to coronavirus may soon start getting the treatments they’ve been waiting on.

On players my only gripe was them not taking a pay cut to ensure the non playing staff had their jobs / incomes protected a lot of the other stuff was just public grandstanding .
