Just listened to a teleconference about the impact of the virus on the global economy.

Summary:
China and the rest of Asia will be fine as they have proactively dealt with the virus
Europe is a bit ****ed and needs the ECB to step in. Recession imminent, pick up in 2nd half of the year
US is ****ed as Trump administration has tried to deny the existence of the virus and only just accepted yesterday that it's a major problem

I watched the Trump/Pence news conference last night. Basically Mike Pence was put forward to say that Trump has been magnificent at dealing with the virus. I hope some of these sycophantic ****s write biographies once they're away from the insanity of Trumpworld.

Factor in that the US has no universal healthcare, and no welfare state to speak of; the impact on it’s citizens and it’s economy will probably be the worst in the developed world.

People in many states have to pay for testing even if they do have health insurance, as most policies have exemption and excess clauses. Something for advocates of a US style insurance system here, to bear in mind.

Yup.
Dont get me wrong, I like my work colleagues etc,
But I like feeding and clothing my children and heating my house more.
So work can suck a dick, unless they gon' pay me to work from home, I am coming the **** in to work, hell or highwater.
If they want to stop me, they can pay me.

Or they could arrest you, as they are threatening to do in Italy.

Six months maximum after this is done with before most ****s forget about it and moan about how the NHS is less efficient than private healthcare or some bollocks that happens to be pumped out by every Union Jack twitter account. I’d like a small silver lining to be that habits change for the better long term but really we are just a nation full of mainly stupid and/or selfish serfs.

So a work mate is on the way to Vietnam, as long as he gets in he then gets his holiday and under company policy is to self isolate for 2 weeks when he gets back on full pay.
