Anyone think, even when this is all over, this new Nightingale hospital is never going back to being the Excel centre?
Maybe they will build those 40 hospitals instead of just pretending that they were going to build them “later”. We definitely need more hospitals!

That's a guess and is completely incorrect.

They are going to other general hospitals at Ystrad Mynach and Abergavenny. Royal Gwent is being used to concentrate on Covid patients, and is coping.

I know this because the foreman I work with's wife is a senior level nurse at Royal Gwent.

No doubt some snap shot from social media will say otherwise, but there you go.

Gwent is the Covid hot spot in Wales, must be that it's a cheap commuter hub for Bristol and, more significantly, London.
Just read this as it goes. I said a while back that medics would end up having to make ‘battlefield’ decisions based on available resource and the likelihood of survival, but telling someone this up front, before being faced with the stark choice of who to save in a given moment in time, just seems completely wrong.

You've said it's a guess and then confirmed elderly covid patients aren't being taken to be treated at the main covid assigned hospital.

Confirming what I was saying. If you develop covid symptoms and you are in a care home there is a good chance you will not be brought into hospital for treatment.

Aneurin Bevan (Gwent) health authority has more than one hospital by the way.

The idea that Wales is some backwater similar to the Amzon jungle is false, just so you all know.

The great man is probably turning in his grave, after seeing what successive governments, Mrs Thatch, Blair and the current shysters have done to his beloved NHS.

They are going to another hospital.

You said they weren't being treated.

My parents (in Southampton) have been told, by their GP - who then rang me as next of kin - that if they are taken ill they will not be taken into hospital, they will be offered palliative care at home. They have also been registered “not for resuscitation”. They’re in their 80s and at peace with it. Both doing surprisingly well at the moment. Both experienced the Blitz as children, which might explain their fortitude somewhat.

Too many people here bickering about **** that doesnt matter, spreading dubious rumours as confirmed fact and generally just being unpleasant.

New politics thread this in a few days.

That’s crazy. Wishing them the best Archers.

Just a tiny bit of politics.
Anyone seen Priti Patel or Raab recently?

I read somewhere Raab takes over if Johnson is ill.

Seems I missed [HASHTAG]#PrawnGate[/HASHTAG] last night, I tried to have read back, but don't have the patience, so gave up.

Chief seems a mildly lessor grouchy mood but the day is still young.

I noted Fosse still had to have the last word last night, while chatting to himself in the corner.

Comm will be working hard to keep the shelves stacked for us, although I'm not really a great fan of ASDA, so generally shop else where. It gets a bit tiresome of seeing mums turning up in their onesies.

Postie was still doing his rounds this morning with a smile and what is it when hospitals send you letters, they always seem to have to send it in duplicate!
