It's me ffs, i know all about pissed posts.

Female friend of mine went to LA, she's really into American reality TV and HAD to visit the place. She said she was extremely disappointed, the gorgeous parts of the city are a very small minority of the city, with the rest being... pretty horrid. Said she'd never go back.

But apparently New York, Florida, Las Vegas, even my family said Utah are must visit places. Gorgeous.

I've no idea what its like now, but the smog was fooking horrendous, when you was on the outskirts, looking back into the City, you could just see it hovering over LA like a big black cloud.

Not sure about Florida. Me and my (ex) Mrs were driving down i-75 once and had an argument about my driving. I said a few choice words, pulled up on the hard shoulder and told her she could drive then. When I got out to swap seats the bitch scuttled across and drove off without me. This was in the days before mobiles and I was on the outskirts of St. Petersburg. Finding a public call box in St Petersburg to phone her parents was an experience I will never forget. Glad I was already wearing brown shorts!!

I’ve seen very little of the US. Having been to Florida (which was great at the time) I did still believe Americans were fat idiots. Then I went to New York and realised that despite the centre being pretty much the arrogant American knobhead you expect (though a lot of similarities with London it has to be said), that in the outskirts people are pretty ducking cool.

I’ve not made my mind up on America yet as I’ve not seen enough - can’t decide based on probably the two most touristy places to visit - but i’d love to see more of the country. I’d like to do a road trip in a camper from east to west at some point.

I heard San Francisco is pretty depressing. A lot of street poverty and not much to see or do there.

She doublebacked on herself fully expecting me to still be stood where she had left me. Then panicked when I wasn't and phoned her dad in tears. He told her where I was and eventually she found me a few hours later. We both got a bollocking later from her parents. Her for driving off and me for being the luckiest ****er alive for not getting robbed and shot.

I’ve done some pretty diverse parts of the US (not the middle, why go to the middle but I have been to Tulsa which isn’t in the middle but is proper hicksville ) and New York is very different to anywhere else in the civilised parts of the country.
