COVID in our house again, slightly different again. This time both my daughter and Mrs luv bringing up blood when they cough. Generally okay and docs just saying it's fine. My daughter was about 2 weeks ago and recovered well. Mrs luv quite a bad asthmatic and prone to infections which seems to be making it worse. I'm next.

More data sharing, this time with HMRC...

https://www.punchline-gloucester.co...nd-out-if-holiday-let-owners-are-avoiding-tax

Airbnb has shared data on users' earnings dating back to 2017-18. The information will help HMRC identify who is making money from letting their properties without declaring it.
Fairly standard when you let a property. Property management companies are obliged to provide details of your let to HMRC if requested. If owners are resident overseas they automatically provide it.

Exactly right as well. People should be declaring and paying tax on income they earn through letting.

As they are generally very short stay lets, some will take cash and cut out the middle man. :bandit:

I guess Air BNB lettors are harder to police which is why HMRC have gone after the company for details.

Isn’t it all done through an App though and then Co sends share to owner/lettor?

It don't all have to be done through the app - I've known owners that will bypass it privately for a better price. I'm sure in the past I've seen properties advertised on other third party websites as well as air bnb - I assume if you are an owner, you just block out those available weeks. Afterall you could be reserving it for family visits, and you are not going to charge family or any other excuse you wish to make up. Some properties come available because family members have 'just' moved out.

Abe have you ever heard of this newspaper/magazine or it's author?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Light_(newspaper)

The only reason I ask is because they done a piece on digital money, Issue 30, Feb 2023 - and I got wondering to myself where have I roamed into lol.

they been set up by the bbc accusing them of far right propaganda and connections to other networks in Europe that are deemed far right….. I posted the interview between the paper and bbc but probably no one took notice(they’re loss)

anyway turns out the bbc is more racist than the accused if you ask me ….one main difference that separates them is that one accepts freedom of speech whilst the other spill’s propaganda of just one view that blankets all….I’ll give you a guess who the good guys are…

As for the article I can’t say……maybe your racist and all or do they AI says <laugh>

Here’s what the bbc wrote about said paper brb dude…..now I did post a vid showing the 3 hour interview between the two entities in question and again all I will say is one came out of it looking stupid ignorant and totalitarian and that wasn’t the editor from the light newspaper let me tell ew.

Bbc must be pulled up on its agenda because it’s clearly being used as a tool for manipulation of public opinion no more no less and let’s be honest that’s not very British of them we are supposed to be free from propaganda and Orwell’s 1984 from being a reality

Wow just read that article, bit long but I read it. My only focus with stumbling on that newspaper/magazine was the the article regarding digital currency, and it's gradual progress from a cashless society. It's not my world anymore, nor do I have the power to change it, but if I was giving advice for the future, it would be to say to people, keep using your plastic or phone wallet, I have no issue with that, but at times still insist on paying in cash, when it suits you, because once we become cashless, then you have handed over the key to your lives - you need look no further then Canada during covid, when the Canadian government looked to freezing protestors bank accounts. Don't forget also the British government has shown with hand-outs how easily it has access to people's bank details, and you got to be mad to even think of trusting them. If you still don't believe none of that, then look towards China and Hong Kong, or Trump the mad dictator along with Putin, it only takes one crackpot to change the world, if you give them the means of digitally doing it.
