I have challenged it once I've got another challenge in but if not paid by August 4th it goes to £300
And then a grand.

You better contact them by RECORDED DELIVERY so you can prove it to them if it's delivered.

I can tell you forgot to send in your return and now you're cowardly trying to put that on them like it's their fault. I see this all the time. Tut tut.

well if HMRC is like lots of other Govt Depts that wouldn't help as the post goes to an outsourcing company for example G4S who sort it and supposedly send to required Govt site & dept .
But he'll have a reference number that it was posted with and delivered by Royal Mail, yeah?

Just pay it, drop in the ocean that man

I could tell him what to do to get off with it but he's always been a ****ing knobhead so I'll just let him carry on crying about being a hundred quid out of pocket.

I'd rather just pay it than go through all that ****e he's doing.

I dunno what electing Labour would have done about it like

Don't people write to their MP's anymore, I'm sure it would be more effective than on not606. At least then your complaint is recorded.

I've said it plenty of times on here, but I have no idea why anybody from a working class background would vote Tory, because quite simply they do not represent the interests of the ordinary working population. They are a party designed to protect the interests of the rich establishment and wealthy individuals. They have systematically rigged the system to keep the wealth at the top and the power within a small sect of certain individuals.

And what was the answer that the "working class"
gave you for the 2019 election result ??

Voted for the "lesser of two evils" (in their eyes) ??
Something else ??

The UK is some way from the "uniparty" of the USA
(Democrat and Republicans being the two
self-serving cheeks of the same arsehole) , but give it time ...

yes but not to HMRC .
Welcome to the joys of outsourcing and closure of local offices.
I'm not sure what you're getting at here, pal. If he sends it recorded delivery that shifts the blame to them and at worst delays the fine to allow him to send them in again.

It's like paying with a credit card. It gives you protection.

That's it. I don't think his query is going to get resolved on here anytime soon.

The £100 is levied on my account .
I've rang twice about it after I got it .
I rang the next week and it had changed to appeal by letter after previously doing away with letter appeals.
Dealing with HMRC is shocking .
You basically are talking to somebody working from home who isn't really bothered.

And there the problem is people not really giving a fk for another it's just wages and they don't see past it which any empathy or logic

If post has been outsourced all recorded delivery would show that it was received by the handler you then still have the problem of getting HMRC to accept that it has been received .
Among the many reasons i loath much of the craze for outsourcing by big Govt departments is it allows them extra ways of brushing you off .
Another reason was if you were a lowly employee of said dept trying to find out what the lazy ****s were actually meant to do was a nightmare as constantly heard "not contracted for that" from G4S , Serco Atas Capita etc employees during my dealings with them .

You give them the reference number that they can check themselves on Royal Mail and it will them when it was delivered and who signed for it.

Another great myth of recorded delivery is timeliness.
At best all it can tell you that the package was delivered,
and when it was handed over.

A 1st class paid recorded delivery package is not
prioritised to be delivered before 1st class standard
packages. So when sending stuff to the taxman etc,
give it plenty of time to allow for potential delays.

tbh with some of these centralised mail handling sites i'm not even sure recorded delivery can be done .
