What gets me is they seem to **** up time after time but still keep getting these government contracts. There are either some serious backhanders being paid out or they have some dirt on government. More likely both.

It's not just G4S. Serco have made a serious wedge out of this pandemic. They seriously wasted a hell of a lot of money with the test and trace program. There needs to be a full inquiry into he awarding of contracts. Too many jobs for the boys (and girls) during this whole thing. The situation was serious and very real, but they didn't waste the chance to make money out of it - like they always do.

they are very intertwined as most of these companies have 2 or 3 ex ministers / MPs and sometimes Civil Servants as non exec directors and they move there straight from Gov . All this is due to the not wanting public sector workers but the contracts often means the service is set to fail as it cannot be done well for the price set .
Should also point out that holding the outsourced companies to the contracts is quite difficult as at the front line it is often difficult to find out exactly what they should be doing .
The ones you see all the time are G4S , Serco , Capita .

Remploy are one of the companies bidding for outsourced Govt contracts . They are no different to any others and the original aims and ethos has been well and truly dumped .

Only in name . They just bid for Govt contracts to help disabled people to prepare for employment / get employment which in reality means cherry pick the ones who look best placed to get employment and ignore the others unless they find employment off their own bat then Remploy will put in for their payment despite in some cases never ever contacting the disabled person so legally not entitled to it .
I actually forwarded a couple of cases to the DWP employer fraud squad but have no idea if anything came of it .

yeah, think someone missed the £100m fines that were issued. Maybe doesn’t know that over 80% of meds used in NHS are generics at fixed prices, much lower than say the US
