Scrappage would be of limited benefit now, as who can get out of a lump of **** worth a grand or so, into a £40k new car even with a couple of bags lobbed at it by Govt / Manufacturer?

It needs a hefty Govt subsidy that’d pay the bulk of a deposit on a lease agreement, as you don’t want to be owning EV’s imo. The bulk will be sold that way, handed back after 3/4 years, refurbed and sold on similar agreements to the second hand market, then at the end of the 8 year cycle they’ll be recycled by the manufacturer.

The vast bulk of the manufacture investment is going into EV, hydrogen won’t get any traction.

But whoever it is it is Boris's fault because he didn't fully lockdown the country when Starmer said he should, or free everyone when Starmer said he should or lockdown a second time when Starmer said he should or release everyone early this time before we know for sure if its safe

The problem is all the Governments give guidelines hoping the general public follow them and act sensibly but that never happens, wether it is celebrating a title win, or a protest march or attending a wedding or a religious festival all common sense goes straight out of the window regardless of which country they are in and when the body count goes up its Why did the Government allow this to happen

Several questions I would ask. Why are those people having to congregate like that, surely IF they are German then they are members of the EU, so should be able to waltz straight through in theory.

IF they are being checked for complying with vaccinations and other formalities, surely that should have been done before they arrived. It also looks as though it's more than one plane load, possibly two.

I'd pretty much guess all those people have complied with travelling requirements, so get them though and out of there.

Hydrogen should have always been the choice for going forward.
Batteries are ****e, expensive (in both money and slave labour lives) to produce and extremely toxic to dispose of (or again expensive to dispose of cleanly).
They also have a very limited usage range, are very difficult to provide sufficient charging points for (c/w parking spaces)

I was wondering what we do with the batteries afterwards, surely there will be billions of them worldwide to dispose of.

At minute thsts true but it will prob be a different story in 5 years as the development improves .
As has been stated charging is the main issue and you will need to have a longer period to fully implement

Imagine going along to a charging station and spending 30 mins every time on a fast charge, jeez they're either going to need a lot of charging points in the station or there's going to be a big queue up the road. There's a hell of a lot of business drivers out there, that cover hundreds of miles every day. I really cannot invisage how any of this is going to work practically. It's fine for the granny who are poodling around town, but shhite for high milage drivers.

This is the problem when you have Boris' on their pushbikes and are chauffered around elsewhere, they haven't got a clue, have they never seen the state of the M25.
