I’m getting my second jab on Sunday, so see absolutely no reason why I shouldn’t go to India tbf. Might come back via Brazil

amazing here. Not sure apart from weather what I would be missing out on. Guess it’s down to personal choice, for me Europe etc is still a risk.

    Guess so.

I don't see it as a risk now, we'll both be double vaccinated and the kids won't need one, as has been proven now. It'll all depend on whether the French are as up to speed as we are by then.

We had a British holiday two summers back and it just wasn't that good. Cornwall, while lovely in some areas, was horrible in the more obvious tourist spots (St Ives especially) and it's silly expensive and the weather isn't always great.

I do love Britain, I happily live here, so consider a holiday to be going away. For me, a holiday over here isn't a holiday.

Must admit, I'm much like Chief, I have no intention of holidaying in this country, for much the same reasons. I was actually offered to go down to Cornwall next month, which I politely declined.

My thoughts for what they are worth.......

This is probably about as good as it’s going to get Covid-wise. People are still catching it and people are still dieing from it. And they probably will for years to come. I think anyone waiting for it to ‘go away’ are in for a bit of a shock.
My nana is 82 and isn’t that well (cancer etc, but has battled bravely through) she had her 2nd jab about 6 weeks ago, and pretty much every family member has had at least one dose. We’ve been hugging her for ages now. Some would disagree no doubt, but like I said, how long do we wait until it’s ‘safe’.
I don’t need any politician telling me what’s safe and what’s not. All of the data is available for anyone to go through online. I never realised how many of us where reliant on a fat **** with daft hair telling us what to do.

So in summary @Chief I’ll allow you to go skiing <laugh>

This sort of stuff is where Britain lets itself down.

Don't get me wrong, things are improved massively over recent years but, when we went to St Ives for instance, it was queuing up for good old British fish/pie/pasty and chips and eating on a bench, or a pint in a pub with no windows. We went for food in Pompey marina before the ferry last year and it was absolutely ****ing grim.

In France, Spain, Italy, all of our more civilised children friendly neigbours, the food on offer in cafes and bars is better than nuggets and chips, and the drink is better than a pint of ale.

It's just done better, in a better environment with a better view and weather.

Much as I love a British pub for a pint and some grub, it's not holiday food and it's not as appealing when you've got your kids with you.
