For what purpose, other than for Salmond to get himself back in politics.
Why do you think it's more than that?
The SNP are just pushing for another referendum and that's it. Another party doing the same doesn't really weaken them.
Salmond's been sidelined and he wants back in. That's it.

Well if Salmond comes out on top we will have the next King of Scotland instead of the next Queen <whistle>

Alex Salmond has had all sorts of accusations chucked at him, and how he got off the claims is beyond me, and he wants back in politics, what part of that is difficult for you to understand?

Alba and the SNP going head to head seems ridiculous to me and it only serves one purpose, and I'm pretty certain it's nowt to do with what's best for Independence.

Ah....let them have their independence, can't be arsed with it mate. If that's what the Scots truly want, but I'm not totally convinced it is.
I am all for any country having their independence if that's what the people want and would be truely happy for the Jocks if they got it.
I just think Sturgeon is on a personal power trip though with no real care of the consequencies for the people of her country.

I'm agreeing with you. That's all it is.
He doesn't give a **** about splitting the vote or the overall direction of Scottish politics.
He just wants back in.

They are both (Alex and Nicola) on their own power trips, that's for sure. Like we seem to agree on, if that's what Scotland really want, I'd be happy for them.

We probably don't understand the size of their ego,so.
I'd be happy with a quiet life after all that crap.

Due to their voting system, the additional member system.

His personal motives are probably that he wants a seat, but the idea doesn’t weaken the independence vote.

Will it not just become a struggle for power, Alex or Nicola, because there's no way she is ever going to work with him again.

Although Alex gaining any ground with the Alba party will be akin to trying to unblock the suez canal.
