I was really ****ed off annoyed that afternoon over some **** at my end, I had my blinkers on
its success rate is calculated at 90% by using the difference in numbers who contracted Covid after having the vaccine and those who had the placebo so there may be some queries if the data when published shows different rates in different regions / groups .
PS i hope Pfizer and BioNtech have massively upgraded their cyber security recently .
Didn't realise some were given the placebo, but the 43,000 over a number of countries helps give some hope that we can see the end coming

With a vaccine on the near horizon should the current lockdown restrictions be extended ?
What I mean is...with a possible end in sight to this wretched pandemic it surely would be even more heart breaking to lose a loved one now. Should we just stay home and keep everyone as safe as possible until the vaccinations are rolled out for the most vunerable ?
Personally, I'd be happy to do it for my fellow citizens and I say that as someone who's not in any high risk group.

I would say that is down to the R number, if it can get below 1 then why keep current restrictions in place. I am one of the at risk, but realise others not as fortunate need to get back out and to work.
So if everyone has the vaccine twice, 180% of us will be safe?

Well the figures of 43,538 participants to date, 38,955 of whom have received a second dose of the vaccine candidate indicate only 5k received the placebo which i would have expected to be higher but is presumably a fairly standard split .From the way it reads there has been at least 94 confirmed cases .
As soon as the vaccines rolled out I don't see any reason whatsoever why we can't return to complete normality.
UK gov has already sourced 20 million vaccine doses. (healthy people younger than 60 do not need a vaccine) but just you watch these being pushed on everyone to get, OR YOU WANT NANA TO DIE
