The Conservatives have done badly, but so has many countries right across Europe. Even the German track and trace system is close to going bust.

Would Labour do any better than this shambles being put forward by the Conservatives? Nope.

Covid is overrated, anyway.

A circuit breaker isn't a full lockdown. That's why it's called a circuit breaker. And why it isn't called a full lockdown.

Only essential work and travel would be allowed - None essential offices to close - No household mixing.

That's another lockdown.

Typical of me to ask this question but what's with the restrictions on alcohol sales after 8pm, it's like they want people to kick off.

Mass idiocy caused by alcohol consumption has always been a problem for police (and hospital staff). Initially, the liberalising of the licensing laws was intended to dissuade thirsty Brits from guzzling 8 pints in the ten minutes before closing time, thus introducing a continental culture of civilised drinking. No ****ing chance that was ever gonna work.

So now we’re back to tighter and tighter licensing laws. Pretty sure that won’t ****ing work either. If you don’t want people to drink excessively, try legalising heroin. That might work.

You're right, it won't work people will just buy bulk and still get pissed. But putting the restriction in place will be an excuse to act like a twat by some.

The 10pm curfew is pretty useless if plenty of people just roll out the alehouse and nip down the shop en masse to buy a load of alcohol to carry on the party at home.

If people are going to kick off because they can't buy alcohol after 8pm then maybe alcohol isn't for them.
Maybe. It's more a problem of restricting a specific thing that'll be the issue. Some will see that as an excuse to push back. End of the day the government shouldn't be restricting choice like this.
If they want to close shops at 8 then fair enough, that'll restrict movement but focus on what people can and can't but will be used as an excuse by some.

Some will use any excuse to kick off, generally those who don’t understand what Society truly is, ironically many of them are exactly the same people who wang on about supposed British values. See the ridiculous anti mask bobble heads for details.
