Lots English in Wales now dude..... Sad but true....... Take a look at the map and see where the votes are coming from...... Lovely part of the world if you can afford it..... The welsh kids can't afford them by the way.

Something 2 do with **** fking wages and high House prices

WTF you on about bro?

I've never seen Wales as an expensive place to live. If I was to up sticks and move to Wales, I'd get far more for my money or have change left over. It's not the fault of the English if the Welsh are happy to take our brass.

Didn't @Chief move into Wales from England, there you go bruv, have a chat with him and ask how he managed it, but the Welsh kids can't. Maybe because the English kids get their arses ripped when they buy properties in England, but the English can play the advantage when we sell, and move to, guess where, I hear the Mumbles area is supposed to be a nice part of our lovely UK...<whistle>

Love the rant <laugh>

Fella if you stopped smoking all that dope, you might be able to afford the cost of living, but it's the same ole story, where a smackhead or an alcoholic, wants to blame people such as myself for being English, why they are so hard done by.

You're a waster and want to blame the English for your sins, I applaud you <applause>

Same in Cornwall. Folk from London and the cities buy up all the nice houses and push up the prices for locals, due to ‘going market rate’ and supply and demand. It’s a double whammy down here at times because some folk will buy up 5-6 houses just to rent them out to holiday makers.

Local families can’t afford to buy houses, because whilst they are ‘cheap’ compared to London prices, it’s all relative because Cornwall, like a lot of Wales, is a low wage area.

I moved here from the country, but yeah I’m a Londoner originally. Not saying folk can’t move here and buy houses, but just pointing out the economics of it all.

Bought my house on a Cornish wage though, rather than some pot of cash earned in the city.

But those same economics affect everywhere, if a Londoner moves out the City to outside it's border, it pushes up prices, it's not unique to anywhere really. <ok>

Well the next move for me is in a couple of years, somewhere in or close to Hitchin, so by the time I sell that I should be able to buy my own village <whistle>

I need to check prices again, didn't they slow a bit once all this virus stuff kicked off?

I promise not to move next door to @aberdude , actually I promise not to even move in the same street......or even Village as him. He's welcome to all his prefabs <laugh>

Not looked all that much as it's a couple of years off, need to put a few ducks in a row before sorting that one out, after another 25 years I'll move away somewhere cheaper, who knows might be able to buy half of Wales ;)

Yeah it does. All relative to wages and local prices. £500k will probs get you a 3 bed semi in London. In Wales you could probably by a small holding with that dough.

Cornwall house prices are really high these days due to its popularity and the lack of supply. Wages though haven’t kept pace and it’s virtually impossible for young people to get a foot on the ladder.

I managed to buy a house on a Cornish wage (it was a decent salary though) but my house cheap coz it was a wreck. And its nothing fancy. It hasn’t even got a TV <laugh>

Prices have gone barmy since stamp duty was temporarily removed. Houses fetching 10-15% over asking price in some areas with sealed bids being the order of the day again. It’s a false market though so buyer beware, as there’s reality on the horizon when the SD relief ends, furlough ends and then the dreaded B word just to finish the job off.
