The Chinese have been subjected to a bit abuse internationally for being disease ridden, eating muck and not doing enough to stop it spreading but I think they've been tremendous.To put the problem into context, China’s statistics show just over 2% of infected people have died, suggesting the virus is less deadly than the 2002-2003 outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) or The Ebola outbreak.
The current deaths figure from China was reported on last nights BBC News at around 1200.
But none of this is of any comfort to the victims.
Another statistic I came across that gives context, but no comfort, was, ----
According to the World Health Organization, road traffic injuries caused an estimated 1.35 million deaths worldwide in the year 2016

Knocking up hospitals in 48 hours, enforcing strict curfews in locked down areas and doing a lot of the research into the virus itself.
