Have to say, I changed jobs about two months ago and moved from being in a big company to a very small one and one of the unexpected joys of that has been returning to the office.

Thankfully because there’s only a few of us, it’s easy for the desks to be suitably distanced and the room to be suitably ventilated. It’s been very nice not to be sat working from home, as an office return simply wasn’t possible before I switched jobs. Never really thought I’d particularly miss being in the office but I much prefer it.

I’ll still wear my mask on public transport, just seems like the sensible thing to do, particularly during rush hour around the fringes of the capital.

I will continue to wear a mask on public transport and in supermarkets, because it’s the right thing to do at the moment.

First day of being allowed back into the office if I want to. No pressure being applied by my company until mid September when the expectation is that I go in for a day or two a week minimum.

Also been told that the office isn’t somewhere I should be going to do any work. Your day to day emails, calls, admin etc should all be done at home. The office is a place to basically socialise and have team meetings and meet clients, bit of a change around from pre Covid.

I have worked from home now from December 2019 as my office was getting a refurb (ironically to fit more people in) so am used to it. Much prefer it personally and am glad that lots of companies seem to be opting for a more flexible working approach

My stringently controlled survey (ie watching from Sainsbury’s balcony cafe) reveals almost everyone is still masked. Nice sensible people.

Yes, there have been and will be major protests. But if the net result is that -- as appears to be happening -- the vaccination rate increases markedly, that's a worthwhile tradeoff. More than 5% of the population of France booked vaccination appointments in five days after it was announced.

And let's be real, they'd have erected barricades in the streets for one reason or another anyway.

Amen to that. We’ve got flexible/hybrid working here where you’re only obliged to be in the office for three days a week and it’s entirely up to you if you decide to come in for the other two or stay at home. Having a 3/4 or 4/3 split of being at work vs being at home is quite nice.

We are hoping to go to the Belgium F1 gp at the end of August .

Currently the Belgium Govt are not accepting the NHS letter as proof of vaccinations.

I contacted the tour company and they said currently no issue due to special tickets.

    Not very confusing ...

All we can do is wait and hope .

Love them or loathe them . The French really REALLY stick together , and I honestly admire that . Just like the Welsh , no I'm not joking.

I had my second jab yesterday. Moved it forward myself online to 8 weeks between the two. Didn’t have any issues doing that and can dig out the link to where to do that on the NHS website if anyone’s interested. I am headachey, tired (had a nap earlier which is very unlike me), my arm aches, my body is achey in general, I’m dizzy and even have a swollen armpit and neck glands which is one of the less common side effects. Not to put anyone off though. Hopefully it won’t last long and it’s well worth getting it done and dusted regardless. Will feel much more confident in crowded spaces now, and although I will avoid them where possible, I have bought a lot of gig tickets to a lot of gigs recently. I have missed live music!

Also on the survey of mask wearing post Covid rules, everyone I saw was wearing one in the local shop earlier.
