So it's a 1/10 or 20 chance of catching covid after vaccination.. I hope treatments have progressed along with the vaccines. My second jab due 3rd of June. Given the high infention rate here in the Netherlands we're staying safe. We get out and about, visit bars and restaurants with well controlled outside areas, go to friends or they come to us, no hugging or the Dutch three kiss greeting. There was chaos at some shops when they reopened without appointments, easily avoidable, shopping at busy times a pain in any circumstances. We aren't planning any international travel, that saddens us missing friends and family worldwide. It's up to the individual to act as they see fit and respect the views and safety of others. Plenty of gobshite antivaxx covidiots over here getting short shift from the police. Happy Sunday all, Mrs Jab cooking scones and making strawberry jam later, I've taken care of the Prosecco. Oh and there's some footy to. COYS!
Why are you putting the stick down your throat Mr O? Mrs S aka Ward Sister S does 2 a week and only puts them up her nose
To ensure that we are (or are not) talking about the same thing: We use the 'NHS Test and Trace' COVID-19 Self-Test (Rapid Antigen Test) equipment, which comes in a flattish cardboard box, mostly white, with blue edging, made by Xiamen Biotime Biotechnology Co Ltd, for the NHS. This provides seven Lateral Flow Tests (LFT). The instruction leaflet, enclosed with the tests, explains that the swab on a long stick is to be touched on/pushed against your tonsils, or where your tonsils would be, then pushed up one nostril. Touching my tonsils makes me gag, and pushing things up my nose makes me squirm, then sneeze. In summary, I put a stick down my throat (as far as my tonsils) because that's what the instructions tell me to do.
They do say that if you can put it as far down your throat as is comfortable, it makes the microchip install a bit easier.
I thought that was why a big bore needle was used for my first jab. Still waiting for my instructions from Bill and his ex.
I did read an article a couple of days ago where people have been putting magnets on their arms claiming the vaccine is a microchip https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/57207134
Those conspiraloons that give any credence to this and the rest of the antivaxx bollocks probably voted for brexit.
I haven't a clue what that makes you but could hazard a guess. Are you someone reaping the benefits (please list) of brexit whilst grazing the sunlit uplands happy that you've taken back control of whatever it was we already had control of? Oh, you could ask a fisherman a farmer or those in Northern Ireland with boris's border, a student who can't take up their Erasmus placement or retirees unable to spend more than ninety days in sunny Spain. They and others living with the reality may have a suggestion. Time to finish up today's tasks and head out for a pre match pint. Actually not a pint it's metric measures over here.
I still don't think it's realistic to 'defeat' it personally. That assumes that majority will have vaccine worldwide which won't happen. Think it'll always be round in some form or another and certain people will get yearly jabs perhaps. Does anyone know when the emergency legislation currently due to expire in September is reviewed? Absolutely no reason or need for it to go beyond then.
I'm just getting voices in my head, saying 'Kill them - Kill them all'. No serious side effects, then...
Mr S, it seems that the vast majority of responses about the method of testing for Covid-19, be it PCR or Lateral Flow, all state that a long stick is used to tickle one's tonsils, aka pushing it down one's throat. The only dissenting voice appears to be that of your good lady, or at least your understanding of the testing method used by your better half. Do you know what particular testing kit she uses/has used? Is there a testing kit that does not require insertion of swabs on a stick down one's throat? It would be good to remove my confusion about the testing method used, so that I can sleep easier. OK, I'm pushing it, there...
With you. Older people are more likely to have voted for Brexit, but are far less likely to be anti-vaxxers as we saw diseases first hand that have been eradicated or reduced by vaccines.
Lateral Flow I’ve seen her She’s supervised me doing one She’s an elderly care sister and very efficient Test should come with instructions. Have you read the manual? PCR are deffo nose and throat
