I've spent all my savings on Microsoft products since having mine. Can also speak Mandarin now which is an added bonus.
https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2021/02/coronavirus-pandemic-brazil-variant/617891/ Why the whole 'herd immunity' thing was always a very bad idea, and why it's incredibly important that people take every possible precaution until a large part of the population is vaccinated. The Brazilian city of Manaus was hit about as hard as anywhere in the world last year, to the extent that it was theorized that they were at/near herd immunity. It's now getting devastated anew by the Brazilian variant, with bodies being dumped in mass graves. Also, as the article notes, the reason why rich countries need to do everything in their power to help poorer countries vaccinate. If they're left to fend for themselves, and the virus spreads unimpeded, sooner or later it'll begin to develop mutations that render vaccination less effective, or this class of vaccines entirely ineffective.
At the bottom of the report, it mentions how the Tories also abstained on a vote for all arrivals from abroad to quarantine in hotels for 10 days. Why would any MP ignore this issue, at a time when new variants from various countries are appearing? https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/p...BwnKI_MBiHl9LeWjEEr7NoPQ2WvmMWm4V2S1J-XuhmcKQ
Unfortunately I got the feeling when his family was allowed to visit he was deteriorating. A nation mourns a great man. RIP Captain Sir Tom.
Many of the so called "leaders" could do with showing a bit of the humanity and humility that Captain Sir Tom showed in abundance. If anyone was deserving of an honour it was him.
I am deeply saddened by the passing of the inspirational Sir Tom. He struck me as being the national figurehead around whom the whole country could rally in the battle against Covid. I hoped that he would have lived to save seen this Corona-virus vanquished and I really wanted him to witness the fact that his efforts had been instrumental in achieving this. He was someone who genuinely deserved his knighthood. I have to say that the cover photo of Sir Tom on the GQ magazine absolutely epitomises my perception of him. It is a fantastic portrait.
I had noticed some mention of Lands End to John O'Groats in recent days. I completed this in 12 days in 2003, riding 945 miles. A picture taken on completion at John O'Groats.
