Is it worth having any tiers as they're all pretty much identical. After the Xmas 5 day royal rumble everyone will be in tier 3 anyway.
Has Johnson inadvertently admitted that they had previously lost control of the virus? Not sure of his exact wording but something like “we risk losing control AGAIN”.
Nothing to do with trying to divert attention from the royal **** up waiting to hit us in January with either a no-deal, a pathetic deal or a reasonable deal (which won’t happen because they won’t make money out of it ...) All public demonstrations to be banned from January 1?
The Oxford/Astra Zeneca needs further testing, apparently. The 62% effectiveness was derived from the volunteer receiving two full doses of the vaccine, whereas the 90% effectiveness was as a result of the vaccine being given as a smaller dose, followed by a later full dose. It appears that those receiving the latter were all age 55 or under, so no evidence that it works equally as well with the older more vulnerable groups. Hopefully this won’t cause too much of a delay. Another interesting point. The rate of infection is starting to drop in all age groups EXCEPT for the secondary school age group. Maybe a case for reviewing prevention practices in secondary schools.
A short explanation as to how Oxford were so quick in making their vaccine, https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/dr-miriam-stoppard-how-oxford-23073550
He has already. Except for Wilfred. Slogan wouldn’t work. Too many words. Must be three. Plebs get confused. In his opinion. The reality is. He gets confused.
It's certainly possible. By the time June rolls around, a fairly substantial portion of the population is expected to be vaccinated, and the winter wave should have died down. The smart play is likely to limit attendance still if things don't go perfectly (it would really suck to kill a bunch of people, with an end to the pandemic on the horizon, for ambience at a sporting event), but if the vaccine rollout happens quickly and better weather helps to keep a lid on things it's entirely possible that it can be done fairly safely. 40-50% of the population being immune + low viral loads in the general public plus appropriate precautions should make for manageable risk.
As I dont live in Southampton I'm not to fussed but... Just reading the first 50 hospitals that will do the vaccinations and Southampton ain't one of the 50, but Brighton and Portsmouth are. So the city with the biggest population on the south coast wont be doing them. I'm no mathematically mastermind but that makes no logical sense what so ever.
