Not a request for donations but an illustration of good works being done in, I'm sure, many countries , a ray of sunshine in the darkness for many https://participatiekeuken.nl/
"The Participatie Keuken is committed to vulnerable elderly people in the Haaglanden region. We do this by preparing and delivering healthy meals every week. The corona crisis has resulted in a loss of social support, but the demand for it has only increased. Many elderly people no longer dare or want to leave the house and do not have a safety net to help them through this difficult period. The Participation Kitchen delivers them a meal at their door and gives them a helping hand."

I received a YouGov survey, today, and one of the questions was “Would you be prepared to pay to receive a coronavirus vaccine”?
Those saying “Yes” were leading this by quite a distance.
In the comments section I asked if this question was in the survey to try to assist the government in raising a charge for the vaccine, which might cause some, especially the poor, to not be vaccinated.
IMO it absolutely MUST be free to maximise the uptake, especially as there is no evidence, that I am aware of, to show if these vaccines will give immunity “for life”.

As much as a family Xmas would be nice for so many. What is the point of this current lockdown If the Gov are going to allow "5 days restriction free" over Xmas. What a joke!

I imagine quite a few people might need some persuasion to take the vaccine in the first place. Having to pay for it is likely to be a deal breaker for many, I’d have thought.

Can't see any chance of there being a cost for it. Non starter on so many levels.

One has to imagine the Tory boys in government rubbing their hands and saying “how much do you reckon we can make from this?”
****ing outrageous that they’re even considering a charge for it ..... another way to keep the serfs down ...... <grr><grr><grr>

Even Donald Trump, presiding over the most market-driven healthcare system in the world, has ruled that the vaccine should be free to all in the US. How could the home of the NHS even think about charging for it?

The inept incumbents are alien to those who created NHS.

The flu jab is free to only certain groups of people, but this vaccine is in a different class....it is important that everyone (willing) has to have one on moral grounds and on efficacy grounds.

I will definitely be having it, being clinically vulnerable....it’s the sensible thing to do.

Not surprised a majority say they would pay for it....willing to is not the same as thinking we should be charged.

It shouldn't be a question shame on those that ask it.

It was just a survey wasn't it? Is there any evidence at all that it's actually been considered?

Piece of information....I am eligible for a free pneumonia vaccine but couldn’t be bothered to go to the doctor in the middle of a crisis. The cost if I chose to pay the chemist was £40-70 (depending on supplier). I suspect that the cost of the Covid vaccine is higher after so much expensive research.

As you say it’s a survey....yougov do these things all the time....if I was the PM I would hunt down the person that asked this question at such a sensitive time and hang them up by their delicate parts.
