I`m enrolled in the COVID vaccine test programme - I get my first jab next Thursday. 50/50 chance its the vaccine or a placibo.
Latest information from SCC. iirc, last weeks 7 day figure was low teens, so quite a big uplift compared to that.
This does appear to be a little bit sneaky. Difficult to trust, or forgive, a government that has cornered the market in smoke and mirrors.
Why put London in tier 1 of 3 and at the same time also say "but that will more than likely change in the coming days" just gives the biggest population area in the UK another week to spread the virus even further .
Little in the way of forethought, common sense or logic has been evident to date. No surprise here then.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/breaking-sage-officially-asked-urgent-22834510 Sage asked for a 2 week lockdown 3 weeks ago.
The virus is already in the capital again, it just ain't exploded fully yet. Give it 7-10 days and london will be stage 3 mark.
Those in Tier 3 shouldn’t spend the night outside of their Tier 3 home. Those in Tiers 1 & 2 shouldn’t spend the night inside a Tier 3 home. Advice not a rule, which effectively leaves the door open for people to interpret the rules to fit their own priorities. Surely Tier 3 needs to be firmer, and not left open to abuse? Another anomaly, for me, is the rule of 6, and yes my example is extreme, but I use it to raise awareness of how easy it is to spread the virus by following the rules. You could have breakfast with 5 members of the same household. Have lunch with 5 work/college/university mates. Have a drink with 5 other mates. Have dinner with another 5 mates. You are legally interacting with 20 different people, throughout the course of your day. You go home and your 5 housemates may have done the same, so you end up with one household that, between them, have legally interacted with 90 people in one day. As said above, this is the most extreme example, but it also doesn’t include the interaction you might have with other work/college/university mates throughout the course of the day. And it also emphasises how difficult it will be to stop this virus.
Should everyone who contracts the virus from now on be awarded a medal for services to the economy and the super rich?
