Not mythical at all Archers - same bloke was not allowed to fly to Aberdeen, so took the bus up anyway.
Yep, he (and team mates) were in one of the bars affected in the outbreak. Why professional footballers should put themselves in such a situation beggars belief - especially after a dismal display and defeat earlier in the day.
Tracing has suggested a whole tranche of pubs are at risk....meaning people were on pub crawls. Ridiculous behaviour in a time of pandemic.
The behaviour of a few has consequences for us all unfortunately - we were planning a break in Southampton at the end of the month to visit our grand daughter, and do a bit in our son`s house - now we can`t travel further than 5 miles from home !
Yep, he forces people to crowd into pubs, have raves and marches. What was he thinking when he thought he could rely on common sense and consideration for others.
He devalued his position when he backed Cummins. He was the first to break the rules and he broke them big time but that was OK. The ordinary people must follow the rules but it is OK for his mate not to. After that who was going to take him seriously?
Cummins should have apologised and resigned. No argument there, but you can’t use that as an excuse for breaking rules yourself. Sensible people knew that.... anyone who didn’t was just looking for an excuse and would have broken the rules anyway.
But it helped form people's attitude to the lock down. The prime minister and his mates clearly showed they were not taking it seriously so why should the young pups eager to get out. They know all about do as we say not as we do and simply said **** you..
Common sense and consideration for others not something Johnson has in spades. Robust policing of well defined regulations not to be seen. to late and to early.
I tend to agree with St Godders here. It all changed after Cummings. it was like ‘well if he can, we can’ You can’t trust people to be sensible.
The breach of rules by Cummings with the poor response from the whole of the Tory party, not just Johnson, set the scene. The extremely poor guidance given by the government has now set the trap, because that is what they have done. Asking the public to take over the responsibility of policing the spread of the virus was an absolute and irresponsible cop out by the government especially when they still haven’t reduced our daily death count to the levels achieved by other countries, before they eased lockdown. It was obvious that a minority wouldn’t socially distance, in pubs. The government were praying for it , so that they could switch the blame to the people. It’s what this government does. It never accepts responsibility for it’s glaring errors. It always blames others. The failure to introduce a working track and trace app has been a disaster and, according to the experts at WHO, it is key to safely returning our children/grandchildren back to school, in September, yet despite not having this system working, the government are planning to fine parents who refuse to send their children back. Again, according to WHO, although children tend to get a lesser form of the illness they are still very capable of carrying it and transmitting it, and there are few schools capable of working at full capacity AND ensuring social distancing. Re-opening schools, without proper safety controls is, IMO, just another callous attempt at achieving the herd immunity Johnson wanted from day one. NEVER FORGET THAT.
I think I have shared this before, but if so, worth reminding people that James O’Brien was predicting the government switching the blame as early as 2nd July.
A contact tracer, who has only made two phone calls since May, has been asked to do overtime. You couldn’t make it up.
I think it's a poor excuse to be honest. Yes he was clearly in the wrong but anyone who says 'well cos of that I'm gonna do what I want' is still a selfish **** in my book. People should know right from wrong and act accordingly without basing it on the behaviour of the government and wanting their hand held. I tend to agree with Fran, anyone using that as an excuse was looking for one anyway and would have found another one had it not happened.
