Well not sure if the virus is to blame but Oasis,Warehouse and Debenhams all gone bang this week,just saying.

 

Debenhams were in the mire way before the virus lockdown. Stores closing all over the place and this is probably the last straw.

How we all shop has changed dramatically in a short space of time so I expect more to follow. John Lewis had their lowest partner pay out this year and are already starting to close stores, we just don't care about high street shopping any more.

I read about a group of shopping malls going bust not too long ago and you can only spend so much once restrictions are lifted. Sounds like it should be on another thread.....

 

True enough but the problem is the staff have become unemployed now and not furloughed!

Just before lockdown started I bought a lovely red teapot and bumblebee mug from John Lewis.

I bought a magimix from John Lewis. By the time you’ve washed the thing after using you haven’t saved any time in your chopping/grating.

No one will riot here, you can tell how serious the situation is. I hear an ambulance driving by every 5-10mins or so, from about 8am to 11pm. I can't see them holding this lockdown for much longer though, especially if other countries start relaxing the rules.
