We were "locked down" to stop the NHS being overwhelmed. The NHS has never been overwhelmed, we have 7 new Nightingale hospitals with several thousand beds not being used, ICU at the NHS is at 20% capacity and we are still locked down! This is totally ****ed up! Sturgeon going on about 2nd wave being a real possibility when there is no evidence of this being the case anywhere in the world. Spouting pish like this keeps the spastics amongst us gripped in fear about a disease that kill less than 1% and going by what I've read of late, less than 0.03%. I'm really trying to make sense of it, why are several Govts hell bent on destroying the economy and instilling mass fear into the population? @Benoit Blanc penny for your thoughts

Not really. You can't stick millions of people on the dole overnight, the system would crash and you'd batter the economy. This furloughing is close to the UBI style system I'd put in place. You need money flowing at the bottom, not ****s hoarding it at the top.
Are millions of people not getting paid 80% of their wage by the government? Is that not more exspenive than giving them £100 a week or whatever the dole is?
It's true, all those big massive brand spanking new hossies lying empty. And yet Cov-19 positive patients being forced on nursing homes! It's as if they wanted to clear the decks.
