It would seem that the man who shafted the country over Brexit, has now been shafted himself. Reform paid a vetting company £144k to carry out candidate checks. Not a single piece of work was delivered. Colin Bloom has links to the Tory party & has very serious questions to answer.
There's more to it, the platform they paid £144k for was a manual process, they didn't pay for anyone to check them. It's just Farage finding excuses, which is a massive surprise...
UK government guilty of covering up war crimes. Is anyone surprised? https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1803800029087355015.html
Popcorn time - a PPE case soon to emerge. " it looks like a small group of senior civil servants created false evidence trails to try and cover up the fact that valuable PPE contracts were diverted to Tory VIPs." I sincerely hope that the government's expected general election defeat doesn't signal the end of any corruption investigation. Sunak's passports should be seized to stop his rumoured departure to California until investigations are completed. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1804070642108539096.html
I see that Dross is out and about in your neck of the woods today BB. As an undecided, you can probably be certain that he will wish to have a little chat with you.
I also did that little survey, and came up with the same result. Are the questions leading you towards a specific result, I wonder? A bit late now as my postal vote went off last week. I wanted to give my existing MP a good kicking over her lack of involvement with the constituency, but she decided to quit at the last moment. From the latest polling it seems that what was a safe seat, with a 27,700 majority, it is now too close to call, so I went for the tactical vote. Normally it made no difference what I wanted, so I would pick the person who looked to be committed to the people, and had decent policies. I am pleased to say that my tactical vote, and preference coincided this time.
You mean "Where's Wally"? https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/wheres-wally-tory-leader-douglas-33087597? He's been here for a couple of days - and probably regrets it. On Thursday night he was in the village of Cullen, about 5 miles from here, giving his spiel at the 'hustings' to around 60 people. When he finished his piece, a loud voice at the back (not mine I'm sad to say) shouted "You are the weakest link - goodbye" - which had everyone in fits of laughter. Yesterday he was here https://stbfportsoy.org, at the village's annual two-day Traditional Boat Festival. He had a stall set up next to the SNP's, which he probably regrets - ours was extremely busy whereas his was largely ignored. News of his "Where's Wally" nickname had obviously spread - a large group of locals dressed in Where's Wally outfits followed him around for a while. STV are sending a film crew here this afternoon - to interview the candidates. I'm praying that the Where's Wally crew come back for that as well...
Your boat festival looks like a very good event. I know, from the work that goes on here over many months, just how much effort is put in for our two-day fête by a dedicated bunch of individuals.
It is - it's always well attended, whatever the weather. It usually attracts around 17,000 visitors over the two days, which may not sound much but that's ten times the population. I usually go for the music, which is on all day - a real treat if you're into Scottish folk/rock bands.
Not before time. Mind you, I don't trust the Yanks one little bit - and doubt he'll be safe even on Australian soil.
