The police have been asked to investigate if this is election fraud. In case of doubt, Robert Largan is a Tory MP, attempting to defend a majority of 590.

He's one of my fave's too. Seems to have an understanding of what constitutes the right questions to ask. That he never gets a straight answer says more about them...

Laughed until my sides hurt earlier - just heard that David Duguid, our local MP, has just been dumped by the Tory party. With the deadline for candidate nominations less than two days away, they have yet to find a replacement. <laugh>

Replacement announced this morning - it seems the party have been planning this for a while. The replacement was MP for the next-door constituency who told his constituents a while ago that he wouldn't be standing for re-election at the next general election as he wanted to concentrate on one of his other jobs - MSP and leader of the Tories in Holyrood. Looks like Douglas Ross is just another lying Tory.

What do Reuters know anyway - I'd still believe it. Their fact check was from over a year ago - she's probably said it a dozen times since then...<laugh>

It seems that David Duguid is not going to go quietly. It says in one report that this is a target seat for the SNP, but then such information is not so easy to come across.

I think it's too late for him now, but as long as he continues to publicly berate Douglas Ross and the Tory party, I'm happy. Interestingly, the Reform party have decided to stand a candidate on the back of this fiasco - which will happily split the Tory vote.

I had two Tory canvassers knock on the door this morning - I asked them if they thought it right that Sunak should place more importance on filming for a TV interview than he did on D-Day commemorations - for which they had no answer. When I followed that up by simply mentioning the "backstabbing Douglas Ross" they walked away. <laugh>

The SNP do actually have quite a decent candidate - Seamus Logan, who is well respected in the Fishing/Hospitality industries, areas we have been unable to get onside for a few years now. We're quietly hopeful of an improved performance this time around.

I expect the canvassers put you down as undecided. :emoticon-0143-smirk

Knowing Douglas Ross, he would have told them to put me down as a Yes if I had inadvertently nodded at any point.

It seems that he does have an ability to make some dodgy decisions on and off the pitch.

I think this may be the first of many 'revelations'. I know members of the Banff & Macduff branch of the Conservative party who are so incensed over what he did to their MP David Duguid that they have started leaking little snippets of his various misdemeanours - including this one. He's now caught between a rock and a hard place - if he withdraws, the party will have no candidate in this constituency, which won't impress Tory HQ in London, and if he stays he faces the possibility of humiliation on the 4th July. Either way, he will probably lose his job as party leader in Holyrood - and they don't really have anyone capable of taking over from him.

    If Carlsberg did Karma...:)

A 46-year-old man has been arrested as part of the National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation into PPE Medpro, the company led by Doug Barrowman, husband of Baroness Michelle Mone. In addition to the NCA investigation, the company is being sued by the Department for Health for £122m plus costs for "breach of contract and unjust enrichment".

Just what you needed to be reminded of in the middle of an election campaign.
