Just confirmation that Sunak has been 'less than economical' with the truth - he's been saying all along that the messages had been deleted, but quite obviously they hadn't. He is simply thumbing his nose at the country, in the belief that he can't be touched/is above the law.
Apparently it wasn't him. "However, the Cameroon Embassy later confirmed that Essouma was alive and was not the person involved in the alleged suicide....The Cameroon Embassy confirm that Mickael #Essouma is alive & on the Bibby Stockholm....Support workers say that he was heard screaming & calling for help, so thought it was him who had died." https://www.thenational.scot/news/23986298.doctor-cameroon-named-man-died-bibby-stockholm-barge/
I hadn't seen that, but the point still stands, that the country could benefit from the use of his skills, rather than incarcerate him until they decide what to do with him.
It is good to know the PM is taking this'incredibly seriously', but beyond that cannot comment. It does seem that those phone messages could have thrown some light on the affair. Still Lord Bethall appears to suddenly have access to his missing ones, so maybe Sunak will ask a 10 year old to get his back.
Government's recently appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Victoria Atkins doesn't even know what a junior doctor is....
Children with bowed legs; Hunger worse than ever; Two year olds trying to eat sand because they are so hungry. Heartbreaking. What on earth has this government turned the country into? https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...gs-hunger-worse-than-ever-says-norwich-school

Tory Pensions Minister Paul Maynard under investigation for spending £106,000 taxpayers cash on local Tory Party printing costs! Meanwhile, his neighbour in the other Blackpool seat, Tory Scott Benton sacked after lobbying scandal last month. What were the voters of Blackpool doing putting their trust in these two?
Now I know that the government has really lost the plot. You are homeless for whatever reason, and there are many, so you finish up living on the streets. Ah, we will stop this with fines of £2,500; Where do they think these people have that money readily available? Can't pay? Off to prison you will go, where you will have a cell with some heating, a bed with a mattress, three meals each day, and if dodgy concrete is not above your head you should be far better off. It might mean that a few rapists, thugs, or fraudsters have to be released though before they can find a space for you. Bonkers!
An absolutely disturbing read. Whilst I understand the need for patient confidentiality/privacy, this strikes me as being way over the top - no evidence of common sense being applied in order to alleviate the guy's obvious panic at not knowing where his mother was. Not that it's relevant, but it's hard to determine where this happened - appears to have been somewhere in Hertfordshire. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1747858911347032074.html?s=03
Terrible....and totally understandable.... even trying to get to speak to one extension can take ages..... Last week i had to wear a 48 hour ecg monitor. Turned up at Leeds General Infrirmary...went to an office where two nurses were sitting to hand out the devices... I asked for help in fitting, was told this was a click and connect service... said I had spatial difficulties and would struggle to fit.. .theyt said was i telling thme I had a disability or 'just'needed help putting it on... they said all was explained on one photocopied sheet just click the leads in spacew and away you go.. . i said it said on my leeter I could have help fitting it... well nmot from them...so i gave up and went home.... my wife managed to work out from the conflicting advice on the sheet how to fit it....and hey ho..... nothing happened... it wasnt set..................... So half an hour of phoning two extensions at the hospital indicated on the sheet got me nowhere... in the end i phoned an ECG department at another hospital and they took me through turning on and priming the monitor through three screens... I took the device back to the LGI three days later, same two ladies, I tried to tell them that it hadnt worked as they said etc...... they said just put it in the box and went back to their chatting..... . I was fuming. ...and before Xmas on the advice of my GP, due to the endless delays , I had paid privately for a private hospital to do the same thing and for £299 it was fitted by a nurse, fully explained and i received the report 48 hours after rerurning it......
