I really hope so. It’s truly tragic that individuals need this sort of wake-up call to their responsibility to others, and that nations need it to face up to what they’ve been doing to the planet.
yes mate , right now most people have got plenty of time to think and reflect on the things that really matter , so a sea shift can be expected in awareness , the danger , is once the worst has passed , and lives get busy again , the daily tittle tattle will fill that void , talk will be football , celebs and that idiot on the tele .........govt relies on distractions like that , they virtually sponsor them , probably corbyns achilles heel , his earnestness to cut through it all too quick for the mind numbed to comprehend. As an optimist , we need to seize the moment , the sleazy state is laid bare like a worn out hag , a more caring western society may come to the fore .....
The present Conservative government, elected by a landslide, is here to stay for at least the next 10 years. To imagine any alternative is wishful thinking leading to disappointment. Boris has promised to proceed as a One Nation government. The early indications have been promising, have faith you unbelievers.
And in terms of Corbyn, I had hope when he was leader. I joined the Labour Party because of him, and I will leave in the next few days. My membership was about showing the sort of political future I wanted. I have to leave because I cannot be associated with Blairites or neo-Blairites. My membership of Momentum is dependent on me being a member of the Labour Party, so that has to end too.
Labour were smashed in the recent election because of Labour's useless confusing manifesto / Brexit policy and the dread of the loser Corbyn anywhere near power. Blair, for all his faults, ensured socialists ruled the UK for 3 terms. There is a common worry throughout the Labour Party that Momentum would rather keep the party under control of the left than serious vying for power. This policy is perfect for the Tories.
Sorry, but this is just plain political spin, and nothing to do with the coronavirus. Cut it out or I will do it for you.
So as we have watched the number of homeless growing day after day, suddenly the government comes up with some loose change, and in the twinkling of an eyelid tells local councils to get these people housed by this weekend as they are likely to spread the infection. Can anyone put forward a reason why if the solution was so simple it hadn't been done before?
The French police are threatening to stop challenging people on the streets as many have no facemasks. Their normal supply has been diverted to health workers more in need. The shortage of PPE equipment is being experienced in most countries around the world.
From ny friend Quick update on Father-in-Law. Home, in bed and awaiting first carer visit. Breathe a sigh of relief until the next incident ... Thank goodness...

yes , very simple , they created the conditions that lead to homelessness, they are a visible reminder to everyone else what awaits you if you don’t conform , two jobs , huge debts , in hock for a lifetime , it’s a crude form of social control, it’s certainly not unavoidable, as we’ve just witnessed
So much hogwash as usual. I’m not going to entertain such drivel beyond pointing out how Corbyn made the Labour Party the largest political party in Europe, so let’s not pretend his politics was unpopular, that’s just silly. Media, Blairites, and an uneducated public screwed him.
The outcome of elections depend on the number of votes on that day. There are no rewards for the number of party political faithfuls, except for the Tory Party whose members got to choose the PM. it seems it was everybody else fault except poor old Jezza.
