It is good the EU-UK Brexit talks will go ahead next week. We need to get this wrapped up by the end of the year.
Cutting through the ping pong.. A message from a friend this evening. : I’ve heard it all now. Father-in-law - 91 1/2 being sent home from A&E with suspected covid-19. Apparently they will have to put him in isolation ward if he stays there so that will be with people in much worse state than him. If he hasn’t actually got it he will catch it, if he has got it will likely get worse in that environment. Can only be tested if he goes into that ward. But if he goes home must have same carer all the time otherwise cross-contamination likely. AAAGGHHH. Terrible times eh.....
In my family we are now thinking my daughter may have possibly had the virus earlier, followed by my wife, then me. This would be the reverse of me having symptoms which caused the isolation of the others. Without the required testing kits all is unknown. It is impossible to distinguish between this virus and normal cold / flu, especially as symptoms vary. The dry cough and tight chest seem to be going on much longer than two weeks.
(buzzer) Andy? Repetition! It was repetition, though in fairness to Mr Head, he can’t keep two ideas in his fugly bonce at the same time, but that means you have ten seconds left with our subject “What is the point of superhorns?”, starting now! (nine seconds of silence) (buzzer) SH? Cartoons! (everybody buzzes, and in chorus they yell) Repetition of interruption! Yes, it was a repetition of interruption. Points all round - except for superhorns, who is yet to get off the mark! (buzzer) Yes, superhorns? Is it cartoons? (silence. The audience shake their heads in disbelief and sadness) please log in to view this image
So, update - father-in-law, having been sent home by Barnet Hospital with suspected covid-19 now using alarm to alert Red Cross to the fact that he is on the floor again and they cannot come out because he is a "suspicious person". Paramedics called out again... So hard for people...
that’s awful , it was bad enough before this crisis , risk assessments on whether people are to heavy to be helped up , in which case the fire service are engaged , this boils down to inadequate provision for residential care , unless you can afford £1000 a week for a private place ,with various degrees of care , this crisis has revealed the real state of the uk care system for all to see and experience, never mind the hollowed out state department’s that deal with benefits , tax , health and safety , it’s a skeleton service that has been sacrificed at the altar of ideology
