    Yes that is true.

There have been issues with PPE and how the Government were slow to react at times or trying to give false hope like at Christmas.

I suppose the vaccine roll out has saved them a bit and we have to be thankful for the experts and scientists for that.

India recorded 234,692 new infections in the 24 hrs to Saturday morning, according to health ministry data, the 8th record daily increase in 9 days. Fatalities rose by 1,341 to reach a total of 175,649..but the Indian Gov is accused of GROSS undercounting. 'Dead bodies all over': Lucknow funerals tell a story starkly different from UP govt's claims . The Government bodies aren’t testing many who die before or after death. But they die just the same, simply not counted as Covid deaths.

For some reason India is still on the UK's green channel for incoming flights, and yesterday 9 aircraft arrived from there at Heathrow alone.

I don't suppose it has anything to do with Johnson having a visit lined up in the next week or so.

There's also the issue of what they are deliberately hiding from the public.

Health Boards in Scotland are currently facing a class action by families of Covid patients who became infected whilst in hospitals. The latest data from the Scottish government - from 21/3/21 - shows that a total of 3719 (1.7%) definitely acquired the virus in a hospital, while a further 1664 (0.8%) may have acquired it in a hospital. For some reason, the same data for England apparently stopped being published back in November - when it showed that, by 14/11/20, 19% of all Covid cases had been acquired in hospitals. The cynic in me says that they realised the implications and moved to protect their wallets.

So who do we believe - the UK government's ONS figures or those of the EU's statistics office Eurostat?

From the data I have seen, the UK was measuring the number of lorries crossing the Channel, whereas the EU was counting the goods value inside the lorries. The UK chose to change the method of counting value from 01/01/21, so comparisons with a year earlier make little sense. Neither of these figures take account of the lost services business. However you look at it it is a bit of a disaster.

BoJo held a press conference in his £2.6 million purpose-built room at Number 10 yesterday, and encountered a rather embarrassing question from Huffpost's Paul Waugh - which of course he chose not to answer.

A short while later, it was announced that plans to have White House-style press briefings had been scrapped - and his specially appointed media chief had been redeployed elsewhere. Of course, it was sheer coincidence that he was embarrassed by a question - who would have thought that a journalist would do something as sneaky as that?

24th April 2020 Dyson will not supply medical ventilators to help the NHS treat Covid-19 patients after the government told the engineering firm that its services were no longer required. News report, confirmed by Dyson.

22nd April 2021 "All I know is that the PM had direct contact with James Dyson & we managed to make the ventilators in time & as a consequence of that 1000s of people who might have died were saved ." Kwasi Kwarteng, Government Minister

Which do you believe as both statements cannot be true?

Do you remember seeing a story in the paper recently about Centene/Operose taking over a large number of GP practices? Well, they’re a US insurance company. Their CEO was called Samantha Jones. She’s just become an expert advisor to Boris Johnson about NHS transformation.

Under this government the NHS is up for sale despite saying that it would continue as it is and not go down the expensive American route. It looks as if "transformation" is the new word for "privatization."

How can I ‘like’ this comment? Seems like Corbyn was right.

I wonder how many, if any, believe Number 10's denial that he ever said this?

This smells like the local field before the farmer ploughed the manure in. Why the Mail that has been so enthralled by Johnson? All I can think of is that a coup is being attempted. Gove and Cummings have been a pair since Gove had him as his chief advisor at the Ministry of Education. Cummings has already made life difficult with his revelations last week, and promises more. Gove is seen to be distancing himself over Johnsons comments as he doesn't wish to be smeared with them. But why the Mail? Sarah Vine did an interview with Cummings to show him in the best light just after the Barnard Castle episode. Sarah Vine is Gove's wife.

Gove has been conspicuous by his absence for a while now, with large numbers on social media in Scotland wondering what he's up to. He's hated even more than BoJo up here, so if there is a coup, and he is behind it, things could get rather nasty.

It's actually frightening to think that these people are allowed to vote - how can anyone claim to watch/listen to the news but not know about one of the country's biggest ever scandals?

Whoops - am not sure how that top bit got in there...
