Just a suggestion. Let's reduce the money for weapons and use it feed people and provide a better standard of living for all, and make up the money for warfare with charity giving.

My cynical mind says that this survey carried out for BBC Scotland was timed to coincide with BoJo's ridiculous claim earlier this week that Devolution has been a disaster. One in the eye for both BBC Scotland and BoJo, neither of whom can accept the truth.

Fifteen years ago the twenty most deprived areas in the U.K. were in Scotland. Now all twenty are in the north of England. That’s where 13 years of pro Scotland government takes you. As an outsider it is obvious why the people want to run the country in the best manner for them and not Westminster. Mind you the help from several shambolic UK governments has helped to make the leadership look world beaters compared to those in London.

You have to wonder why there was ever an investigation launched into Priti Patel's bullying behaviour if all BoJo was going to do was ignore the findings because he didn't think she was a bully - and had apologised anyway. If she hadn't bullied anyone, what was it she apologised for?

I presume even if people have the vaccine they might still have to wear a mask or still be wary in certain situations as clearly they won’t want them to pass on any cough droplets or cold onto others who haven’t had the vaccine ?

Saw this on another forum regarding potential plans to roll out the vaccine.

No idea how much truth there is though.

"The draft plans, seen by Health Service Journal, say that the “bulk” of vaccines of the last group are likely to occur in March, meaning that almost the whole population should have been offered jabs by Easter.

The dates pencilled in for beginning each group are:

Care home residents and staff, healthcare workers - from beginning of December

    Ages 80 plus - from mid-December

Everyone aged 70-80 - from late December

Everyone aged 65-70 - from early January

All high and moderate risk under 65s - from early January

Everyone aged 50-65 - from mid January

Everyone aged 18-50 - from late January, but with the bulk of this group vaccinated during March

The plan would see 88.5 million vaccination doses delivered across England, with two doses per person over the age of 18, by the end of April."

The news over here is that it is unlikely that much of the vaccine will be available before January. That might change of course and we might find out more on Tuesday evening when the President will be on TV. The chart below shows who has the most calls on the first ones likely to be available.

There has been a fairly similar path in the data between France and the UK, the main difference being that England is lagging a couple of weeks behind us here. Today has been the end of the third week of confinement, and it is not due to end before Dec.1st, so a four and a half week period. All of the data is looking hopeful as it is heading in the right direction, but it is not expected that very much will change then. Some smaller shops maybe will be able to open, but the targets set for the number of new daily infections probably will not be reached before Christmas or early January. People are becoming despondent, worsened by the evenings becoming darker earlier, but from what I see around here and on TV people would rather get on top of it as much as possible now rather than have a relaxation followed by another lockdown.

My daughter works some days with one of the researchers on the Oxford vaccine project. They have around 330 people employed on it, with 125 from EU countries, and another 100 plus coming from around the rest of the world. As a research project it has received EU funding in part, so it is not an exclusive British success as some are already trying to say. Once again Germany is leading the way in talking about sharing the doses of the vaccine with countries that cannot afford it. It is little use only protecting some people if the virus is allowed free access to others.

A Tory councillor Steve Dechan has a company that lost £500,000 last year. He was lucky enough though to be given contracts of £276M, without having to tender, for the supply of PPE. Quite a change in fortune for him as he is now the owner of this very nice 17thC Cotswolds mansion and a 100 acres of land.
