I think all wives are convinced of that. My good lady insisted that I should get hearing aids because I normally have the sound turned up on TV/Radio etc - she refused to listen to any arguments from me. Admittedly my hearing could be better - probably the result of too many visits to the Railway Hotel in Harrow to listen to the likes of The Who, Chicken Shack and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in my youth - so I had my hearing tested and bought the resultant recommended hearing aids. They don't make that much difference though, I still have to turn the sound up because the noise coming from her & my daughter in the kitchen, radio turned up, pots & pans crashing about and the two of them talking and laughing loudly to each other - which was the problem in the first place, but she wouldn't listen - negates the benefit of the hearing aids.

    Brilliant!
A sad thought is that it could equally be The BoJo timeline, though.

I am sure all those retail staff and vulnerable customers are really looking forward to people rushing into the stores looking for their booze!

The spread of the virus will probably just be there instead.

Comparing the gov’t Covid19 maps for end of September and start of October, it looks as if things are getting better. UNTIL you notice they’ve changed the numbers corresponding to each colour. Had they used the same ones, most of the country would be red or dark red.
People are being given false hope and information. The only reason for this deception is that they want people to believe that they are working successfully.

Judging by some of the comments I have seen, the UK has just killed off a huge part of the tourist industry. As pointed out why pay to go to that island when there are plenty of other countries you can visit and enjoy without getting a passport.

"The Home Office is the lead UK government department for immigration and passports, drugs policy, crime, fire, counter-terrorism and police."

Shame that if people from Europe get a passport, Border Force will not have access to the databases that show if the holder is wanted for committing some of the crimes that they can see now. This is not making people in the UK safer.

What do those numbers on the scale actually represent?

I think they are the number of cases per 100,000 of population. With the dramatic rise in cases this week it would have been necessary to change the colours, but it should have then come with an explanatory note. The world charts that are available to see numbers from far and wide have just had to double the vertical scale for the UK, but it was made obvious.
