if it gives you a fleeting buzz of self importance from your little shack in the wilderness, go ahead.
You are feeling ill enough to think that you need a test for the virus. Having followed the advice you find out that the nearest place is a 100 miles away. When questioned if this was good enough Hancock told a radio programme that the situation was better now, you would only be directed to a site within 75 miles. So what if you don't have a car? Take a train?
Thanks to Dr. Beeching we couldn't do that up here. Our option would be a three hour bus journey, either to the east or to the west - am sure other passengers would be appreciative...
The latest "big change" in coronavirus infections across the UK is of "great concern", England's deputy chief medical officer has warned. Prof Jonathan Van Tam said people have "relaxed too much" over the summer and "we have got to start taking this very seriously again". If not, the UK will have "a bumpy ride over the next few months", he warned. He said that infections among younger people in EU countries had later filtered through to older age groups. please log in to view this image This is what the government wanted to happen, feel good again. Get out to the bars and restaurants, and the result is mixed messages. Looking at this picture it seems that it is the young out and about. The count tonight on schools show that already more than 200 have reported infections, with some shutting. It seems that with testing in chaos the government is fast losing control of the situation.
...all heading i think to further stringent lockdowns........ I also think to some degree they planned for this... let the young have thier fun in the summer and then lock down That weird linkage with opening schools and possibly closing bars was a pointer for me.... they KNOW it is out there are contagious.......
If they don't know they are nothing but a bunch of headless chickens running around in panic mode, not knowing how to fix the problems their actions are about to cause the nation. And if they do know, it just confirms that they are evil personified - willing to plunge an already plunging economy even further with a no deal Brexit just to suit their own ends.
The head of the civil service legal department has resigned as questions are being asked about the governments stance on upholding treaties it signed less than a year ago. Sir Bob Neill, the Conservative chair of the Commons justice committee, says obeying the law is not negotiable. Does this plan break international law? Lewis says it does break international law in a limited way. But he claims there is precedent for this. Maybe they should remember what a previous leader once said. please log in to view this image
They really are a bunch of sheisters as is that 'unpaid' ozzie advisor Boris has brought in.................
There's a horrible rumour circulating to the effect that BoJo is quitting in January due to "ill health and domestic difficulties". That's not the horrible part though - Patel is rumoured to be one of the possibilities to replace him, along with Gove and Raab.
Stronger rules to comeback into force ? But does anyone actually get fined .. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54081131
I think that a few people have been fined, but not many. I have been looking at the detailed figures from European countries all of which have seen an increase in people testing positive. There is a common theme that the majority who are infected are in the 15 - 30 age group. This has serious implications for many of the secondary schools. Some countries are reporting a large rise in the primary school age children. It does raise the question of just how safe schools are, and there is a common belief that social gatherings of the 15-30 age group is spreading it. On Tuesday evening it was reported that 250 schools in the UK had reported cases in pupils or staff.
The rumour about Johnson not having recovered from the virus has been around for a couple of months. Get Brexit over the line in January then retire just as the proverbial hits the fan seems to be the message.
Well gatherings of more than six now banned.... as expected.... .they have to put a lid on transmission... .and we have all had our own version of summer fun.... time ot hunker down again
So next year when Scotland goes to the polls and if as seems likely the SNP win a majority, then a referendum on leaving the UK has been promised. You cannot do that splutters Johnson, assuming he is still in post, it would be illegal. What has that got to do with it comes the answer. Remember when last September you said that breaking the law was fine if it is in a measured way? Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, although north of the border they might have a different expression.
There is a general feeling of disquiet here at the moment - particularly over the belief that the Tory government are planning to get rid of the Scottish (and the Welsh) parliament before next May's election goes ahead. It may well be that, depending upon the result of this month's court case, a referendum could be held before the end of this year - there's also a growing call for the current parliament, in which there is a majority of pro-independence parties, to simply dissolve the Treaty of Union, although I'm not sure how feasible that is. I've never heard any different expression for 'sauce for the goose...' - although, in these parts at least, it's generally 'what's good for the goose...' that is used.
