Unsurprisingly there will no fans in grounds for quite some time. https://inews.co.uk/sport/plans-to-...ove-urges-caution-over-sporting-events-655535
Which, I suppose, makes it all the more necessary for the £10 pay per view for clubs. I wonder if that is shared between each club - or do the clubs collecting it get to keep it? And now I feel it's my duty to pay to watch...
Big petition going around demanding MP's to let fans into grounds. Got 10k signatures so can be debated in Parliament - will anything come out of it? Apart from a "we'll think about this again in the future once rates and cases are going down"
Well, over ten times that number signed a petition calling for the Brexit transition to be extended. It was debated in parliament recently and unsurprisingly rejected. I suspect the benefit from these petitions is that it makes people feel good as they are protesting - nothing ever seems to change as a result of them.
And it will be no surprise if football and it's clubs are well down the list of priorities for the Government to help save. by funding the short fall. haven't they basically already said it's up to the rich Premier league clubs to do it rather than spend x million on a new striker?
Certainly not - but they're not averse to 'politicising' it. The Tory party up here have an idiot for a branch manager called Douglas Ross (unsurprisingly known as DRoss) who also happens to be a football linesman - runs the line in SPL/Euro/International fixtures. He is currently in election mode - demanding that the Scottish Government provide cash for struggling football clubs, even though he knows that the purse strings for that are clutched tightly by the UK Government, who would laugh at him if he suggested the same for England.
Probably to give people some hope and make them comply with the rules a bit more. But I cannot see this happening really as you never know what the rate of each place is week by week or day by day!
And our game is in doubt against Bristol City as they have had a COVID outbreak. Goodness knows what has gone on.
