If the lockdown rules are going to be eased a bit in a few weeks, I think it's a great idea to include Garden Centres among places that can re-open. As long as proper social distancing is observed, I think this would really help a lot of people. I know a lot of people don't have gardens, but that can't be helped. It does seem unfair that right now DIY stores with Garden Centre sections can open, but pure Garden Centres cannot re-open.
By not having a car there are times when I have to use public transport, yesterday was one of them coming back with shopping. I am always mindful of the 2mtr distancing, particularly looking at where other people position THEMSELVES. I sat at the front of the bus well aware of other passengers, but then at the next stop some idiot sat immediately behind me. I then turned round and said to her that she clearly was not 2mtrs away from me, to that she just looked at me! I got up immediately and sat at the back of the bus. Absolutely f****** braindead and without a care for the current situation.
because every 17/18/19 year old boy wants to learn to drive whether they grow up in the UK or Sweden... so there must have been a reason why you were denied this opportunity which for some reason you never rectified when you were in your 20's... missing the freedom of being able to drive yourself around is very sad …… however, as you grow older the pleasures of using the M25 at 6:30am on a weekday diminish!
Every boy wants to learn to drive? There must have been a reason why I was denied? Not being able to drive is very sad? Such sweeping comments.
i passed at the age of 17. 14 minors... no majors so got my licence would do much better now, but at the time i had a set amount of money to pass. if i failed it'd be months before i could have afforded to try again
I can understand that one, and I can't say it is annoying me much yet though I've heard it a million times. It's OK if said by somebody you know, and you know they mean it. "Stay home, protect the NHS, save lives" is a simplistic mantra which I fully understand the need for. But when Government ministers slip it into their replies to awkward questions just to use up a few seconds, it annoys me. They are mis-using the message when they fudge an answer by including it needlessly.
It looks like the Government is getting ready to encourage a lot of people to go back to work soon. By implication, that means the Government is going to encourage / ask / turn a blind eye to people cramming themselves into tube carriages and buses again. They have NO RIGHT to do that. Social distancing is for EVERYBODY or nobody. It cannot become something you do only if you're rich enough to have an office job (so you can work from home) or you are rich enough to be able to drive to and from work. Keeping safe from Coronavirus cannot become a class issue. Feeble advice to wear a face covering will not get the Government or the Mayor of London off the hook. Until there is a vaccine, crowded transport (like all other crowded places) means high risk of infection. High risk that you'll take the virus home, and it will kill your older family members. If I could not practice social distancing while travelling to & from work, as well as while I am at work, I would refuse to travel. Everybody should have that right. Uncaring, greedy bosses cannot be allowed to create an environment where only workers desperate for money are forced to play Russian Roulette with their families lives, and workers who will not gamble like that are sacked and blacklisted.
Unfortunately the rich and powerful people only want to look after themselves lardy and the rest of us are cannon fodder
