Then another couple of weeks after the peak I should think. If this lock-down doesn't last well into May I will be pleasantly surprised. But it will become easier to bear as time passes, especially if the news concerning infection & death rates begins to get better.
Just popped into Waitrose to buy the essentials (cigarettes & the Daily Mail). A long queue at the till, although everyone was maintaining the two metre distance as well. The queue wasn’t moving. Old people standing their with baskets of shopping ....the till still wasn’t moving. Closer inspection revealed that the moron at the front was purchasing over £100 of lottery tickets It hadn’t even occurred to me that the lottery is still going ?! Or maybe it isn’t ...and that was the problem. There really are some plankton around.
One of my elderly neighbours needs 20 Benson Blue a day. They are normally about £8.50 for 20 in the supermarkets- unfortunately the Asian independent shopkeepers charge £10. I am only asking for £8.50.
Spare a thought for the American people, who will suffer terrible loss of life as a result of Trump's leadership. 95% of Republicans still trust his judgement too. I suspect our PM is more unwell than we are told, but whoever is at the helm will be guided by expert advice. Trump dismisses scientific and medical advice with a wave of his hand.
On occasions they have been totally over zealous, according to various filmed incidents I have seen on Twitter. As an institution, they are generally poor & low calibre, certainly compared to 30 years ago. I think this new guidance has brought out the worst in some of them.
Are you bored today ? 500 posts already across all forums...and I still haven’t seen a good one. Go and paint the garden shed.
