    My finger (having no thumbs you understand), is hovering over the ban button as we speak <laugh>

    I can't be cruel to the aged at Chrimbo though, you'll be suffering enough when you run out of money for the heating. I've read those awful stories where they find them frozen post Chrimbo. You need to keep typing to maintain the blood flow <laugh>

    You don't know how close to the truth you are. The feckin electricity board have been re- rooting the supply in our village and cut through the oil pipe in our garden. As it's the only source of heating we have( other than a house full of electric fires ) I'm freezing me knackers off. I've tried burning Mackems in the back garden but the neighbours kicked up about the thick red and white smoke and the acrid smell.

    You can't beat our utility services. They cut a water pipe outside my brothers apartment and didn't realise, re-concreted the area. They then proceeded to send him a water bill for over £2000! When he pointed out this seemed a touch excessive, their response was "well that is the reading". He noted to them the uneven nature of the paving outside and suggested they may have nicked a pipe when doing the earlier work. Eventually they agreed there must be another issue and did some investigation work. They found the leak and then had the nerve to suggest he may have to contribute for not reporting the paving earlier.

    I think someone got a bit of an earful. Of abuse not water just to be clear.
