Don't see your point, LL, of course it was edited, that was obvious. And I for one certainly didn't think that he came out on stage and launched into his speech about C-19 straight away. Selective editing? Sure, who would want to listen to everything stupid thing this man has to say anyway?

Actually trump did launch straight into his comments about light and disinfectant. He was not responding to a journo question which he claimed on Friday (I believe).

Who is this prat?

Trump said what he said. It was absurd.

So the BBC did not play the full 30 minutes or so of the whole thing, so what?

He conveniently states he could not hear the response from the guy to whom trump was directing his ridiculous comments about finding a test for light and disinfectant. The response was something to effect "there are guys who do this, we will have to find them to pursue these ideas."

Yes he did miss the things he admits he missed. So who is this idiot?

Finally nothing stupid about Brisbane Lion's comments. Come back again never please.
Who is this prat, you may well ask, I'm sure you will never get an answer and if you did I'm equally sure it would be irrelevant. There are numerous news organisations who have it in for Trump, Johnson, Tommy and Farage and all, without fail, are biased and corrupt and should be disbanded immediately. The gentleman's identity that you seek agrees with the premise that Trump etc are the true guardians of our society and are the only reason we haven't been overrun by the left wing hordes or worse still foreigners, QED he is right and you are wrong. So what if they suggest ingesting disinfectant, looking for ways of introducing UV light into your body or proudly boasting that they have met with coronavirus sufferers and shaken their hands. They are right and you are wrong and what more my dear friend you will be have to be subjected to the real undeniable truth delivered in the form of some robotic voice created by Russian Television, so it must be kosher!!!

Graeme StephenDon't forget about the speech he was able to make after one week, with no coughing nor any signs of illness. Yet after a holiday in January, at the most vital time for the UK to have dealt with this virus; and his 'miraculous'!!!! recovery, he has still hidden away for weeks to ......... Well know one knows.
But he's back to tell us how 20,000+ preventable deaths and many more to come, is a success.

I hadn't really thought about it, but suspect that these guys might have raised an interesting question. I'm no great fan of Dopey Doris, but if true, this was a clever ruse as part of a wider campaign to get us to toe the line. Again, if true, it worked! ...... & tbh, more importantly for the government, deflected criticism in the most cynical way possible.

Do you believe in aliens as well. Not everyone is affected in the same way.

This seems true, Wakey. Some people apparently recover very well in a relatively short period of time whilst others can have it drag on for many days. One guy i read about was really crook for about a week, and he was, he says, young and fairly fit. Who knows?

According to the Daily Fail this Paulo geezer has had the virus 4 times, or 1 very long time. How does that inform the immunity debate? <laugh><laugh><laugh>
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...sitive-coronavirus-fourth-time-six-weeks.html

Almost certainly just the one time. I'm not saying it's absolutely impossible to get it again but four times in six weeks would seem unlikely!

I don't worry too much about the ones who test positive then negative then positive again within weeks. The tests can bring up a hell of a lot of false negatives especially if the virus is only present in small quantities. I'd be more worried if someone was hospitalised with the virus, recovered, and then was hospitalised again with it two or three months later which doesn't seem to be happening so far, but time will tell.

There have been several cases in China of it lasting 6 weeks or more.
They all had a high covid19 viral load, but immune cell indicator's remained stable - basically, their bodies couldn't eliminate it with just regular treatment.
Throughout the entire 6 weeks, they remained infectious, and the only way to cure them was by plasma transfusion from recovered patients.

This virus has mutated into 11 different types around the world - some that are harmless and some that are lethal.
This is making it extremely difficult for the Scientists working on vaccines.

All of the different mutations are heat sensitive, but the temp required to wipe them out is 56 degrees!!
As Chris Witty said last week when he warned the restrictions could remain in the UK for the rest of the year - "the exit from this is going to be one of 2 things, a vaccine, or highly effective drugs that stop people dying!!"

Hello guys.

Production of ventilators has ceased today at work. They are not going to run out of them in hospitals so demand is now non existent.

The real good news is that I now don't have to work 7 days a week! It's starting to get a bit scary at work. There has been 2 outbreaks in our factory already. So far I have been lucky but we have had another 3 positive tests this week already. Its sketchy as **** and worrying when you are going home to family wondering if you are going to bring it home with you.

Might be selfish but I am super happy at reducing my hours from now on.

I feel for NHS workers, bus drivers, supermarket workers etc. Having to deal with hundreds, if not thousands, of different people a day must be awful!

Fair play to them. **** clapping them on a Thursday, just give them the common decency of giving them safe space to work in!

(I meant clapping them is fine but I think they would prefer social distancing)

Especially the supermarket workers - they literally come into contact with EVERYONE.
Not sure if it's just my local supermarket, or all in general, but noticed the cashiers that used to be a variety of ages are all very young now.
I'm presuming they are protecting the oldies?

I had to deliver (medication) to someone today who is self isolating as they have been confirmed as having covid19 - I must admit, when you know you are on the doorstep of a carrier it's a bit of a weird feeling

We had a lad in on Monday who started to show symptoms. He was on early shift. I came in and was asked to do something. I did the job but someone had ****ed up as I had walked straight into where the lad had been working (not yet cordoned off) and handled all the same stuff he had been handling. Nobody told me.

Because I hadn't had contact with the person its deemed okay to carry on working (albeit in a different area). The lad tested positive and I have now moved in to the spare room at home and only coming out to go to work.

I'm very careful and had gloves on and did the hand sanitizer and washing before and after. I never touched my face and changed my clothes within the hour. I'm hoping I got away with it but won't know for another 10 days or so.

<doh>

Why ten days?

Why ten days?

Symptoms usually show between 4 and 6 days but can be up to 12-14 days. Contact was Monday morning so if no symptoms in around 10 days I should be able to assume I have dodged a bullet.

As i said earlier, the poor people working in supermarkets have to deal with this possibility every hour they work!
