Care home managers and Joe public ignoring guidelines. In theory three weeks into a lockdown there should be zero new cases if everyone was doing as they’re told.32000 dead, whose failings have contributed more?
With so many new cases everyday in the UK easing any restrictions seems premature. In fact you probably need tighter controls if it is going to be stopped. Close the borders, how many people have arrived in the UK in the last two weeks?. Over 60% of all the infections in Australia were acquired overseas,Care home managers and Joe public ignoring guidelines. I do feel Boris has got it horribly wrong with his statement yesterday

I agree, we slowed the spread but our lockdown isn’t strict enough now. We own a hair salon, I’ll be honest, the financial support we have received from the government has been awesome, can’t fault it in the slightest. With so many new cases everyday in the UK easing any restrictions seems premature. Agree with most of that. The main problem I see is how infectious the thing is. If the uk for example, eliminated it completely, unlikely anyway, it would take only one case coming from anywhere, and within a month a second wave would be in full flow. Until this has been eliminated worldwide by vaccine or whatever, we will all be living with it and the restrictions it bringsI agree, we slowed the spread but our lockdown isn’t strict enough now. Our phased time for opening again is July along with some hospitality. Between then and now factories and manufacturing must go back, some shops to open in July. If new infection figures start to spike, we go into lockdown (of sorts) again. With this possible yo-yo effect we might not open realistically until Aug-Sept possibly later.
We’re talking women with there hair, I’m already seeing on FB mobile hairdressers and beauticians offering a “take-away” menu, obviously offering to go to peoples houses. I’m seeing lots of women walking around with no roots and freshly cut hair.
This isn’t a pity me and my business post, I’ve been well looked after so far, I’m just highlighting how this is going to go horribly wrong. You have the mixed message of go to work if you can’t work from home, you have those allowed to work and those who are not, the women who don’t want to go back to work looking a mess and all the mobile hairdressers and beauticians jealous they have not been looked after, they possibly have no income so they’re going to run the risk.
Now is the time for a three week super lockdown, grind the country to a complete halt, no takeaways, no Amazon, no home deliveries of anything other than basic groceries. Then open us up together if safe to do so with precautions in place.
On the other side of the coin, I’ve seen lots of posts on twitter simply saying this isn’t going to go away, we as a nation need to learn to “live with it” we can’t stay closed forever.
OK you have a point Bris, but the issue I have is not about politics it's about leadership. Johnson could be communist or a fascist, or anything in-between but a leader he is not.Leave politics out of this, Eric.
"Coming from anywhere"? In your case I'd say "coming from everywhere". For Christ's sake, get it right!!Agree with most of that. The main problem I see is how infectious the thing is. Not like Scott Morrison, eh?OK you have a point Bris, but the issue I have is not about politics it's about leadership. Johnson could be communist or a fascist, or anything in-between but a leader he is not.

My point was, Eric, that that is all pollies ever do. Make a decision? F*ck off!!If we had done it right it wouldn’t be able to. We’re a small island that could have easily closed its borders for a few months but chose not to and still won’t. Uk is same"Coming from anywhere"? In your case I'd say "coming from everywhere". I must admit it was what I though we should do when this first kicked off but it only takes one to spread the virus and the British, love them or hate them, aren't going to stay in lock-down.I agree, we slowed the spread but our lockdown isn’t strict enough now. We own a hair salon, I’ll be honest, the financial support we have received from the government has been awesome, can’t fault it in the slightest.

Even with all the evidence, the UK still hasn't closed it's borders. For God's sake, wake up!! And as for closing your borders, didn't you complain bitterly about this during the BREXIT A debacle? If we had done it right it wouldn’t be able to. We’re a small island that could have easily closed its borders for a few months but chose not to and still won’t. Uk is same
The Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, is a very lucky person. Holidaying through the bushfires, Sports rort etc and a smarmy, sarky snearing person to boot will come out of this OK but he will get his comeuppance. Not like Scott Morrison, eh?My point was, Eric, that that is all pollies ever do.
