I'm a misery guts and try to be funny with my negativity, but this is for real and what I watched Today I'm not sure I've ever seen before....not one effort on goal! Corner after corner after corner..... I'm looking down the table now.

Howe also said this is Tindalls job, by the way.

These guys need replacing before Newcastle follow Everton... the next two transfer window done badly and the takeover is a train crash.

They did well to get the club so far, but they simply have to move on

They were as **** as ever again last night, they either don't beat the first man or get headed clear, we basically never win the first contact, we don't even compete, we just wait for it to be headed out, couple of times we nearly got done on the counter attack from them aswell.

Interesting Stat off the beeb - actually we score nearly 1/5th of our goals from set pieces:
TEAM - G | SPG (%SPG)
NEW - 102 | 20 (19.6%)
Premier League data from start of 2023-24 to 4 October 2024

Ok from corners we are ****e but actually we are in the top 10 for set pieces overall.

Also if we could stop man marking the 6 yard line and standing still from defensive set plays - and actually concentrate on attacking the ball - it would be amazeballs.

Yes, which is why i'm specifying corners, we've obviously scored from two free kicks in the last two games, so it's something.

However alot of them are ****e aswell, one from Hall in the first half went straight out for a goal kick.

What's worse is it's hard to even see what we're trying to do. Arsenal are obviously masters at the moment, and whilst we can't do that, we can be much more creative.

I'm with you pal, just thought it's interesting - we are scoring 1 in 5 from set pieces but the square root of **** all from corners. Surely it's easier to come up with corner routines than free kicks as at least with the corners there are limited variables in terms of delivery or maybe the randomness of the freekicks is what works for us?.

Don't even necessarily have to get a header at goal (though thats obv what we want), just compete for it and the ball can drop favourably for us, like against Nottingham Forest, but we basically just watch the opposition head it out, unchallenged.

It's really ****.

It's poor deliveries. Very rarely beat the first man and on the odd occasion it does we never win the header as players are too static, and on the 100-1 shot it does hit one of ours, it's never to someone who can head a ball properly.

I think we’re just stale in almost every aspect. We have no discernible style of play, no ideas on corners. Its just a case of fingers crossed these days.
