Not sure what these statistics mean. For instance none of our short corners led to an assist but surely that is because the short corner is not the goal-creating chance. However in the Brentford game this short corner from the right was the cause of the goal scored (see from about 1.03minutes).

Interesting thing is we seem to mix our corners up more than the other teams highlighted. Maybe that makes it harder for opposition defenders to know how to defend against but could also be making it harder for our players to attack them.

If only we had someone tall to aim our corners at.

It's weird how we're so good at defending, yet the exact same set piece causes us problems.

A ball to the near post flicked onto the back. We've conceded that 3 times now.

I've noticed each time it involves someone at the back post that Trippier I think was supposed to be marking. Trippier is superb he looks like he struggles at set piece defenidng sometimes.

They can mix it up all they like but they have no players that are good in the air at that end ... Wilson is decent usually schar can be but the others are thin air in that department

It really is getting embarrassing now, the opposition must be laughing everytime we get a corner.

    The crossed free kicks aswell.

    Hopeless.

There's a combination of many things and another is that teams now think Newcastle are better than they are and take nufc seriously.

We've scored 2 goals from our last 100 corners apparently.

It's things like this, the rigid tactics and the myopic substitutions that make me wonder how future-proof Eddie Howe is.

He hasn't exactly got much choice imo....

There's always going to be someone saying try this or thst but I'd make a case what is being done works and what they have is just a theory.

Easy in hindsight but he did get a few things wrong yesterday.

Wilson over Isak was baffling, bringing ASM off when we need two goals was aswell.

Eddie has done an excellent job, but he isn't above criticism.

He appears to be a bit too loyal to players, Wilson in particular.

Did EH get it wrong? We matched Manchester City in all areas apart from scoring. We had 3 shots here on other days all 3 would have gone in. One could easily argue he got the team selection right

My issue is her doesn’t react during the game apart from on 70 minutes and he hasn’t shown any change of tactic during the game

We really should score more from set pieces, with Trippier taking them and then Miggy and one CM Willock/Longstaff dropping back to cover the counter, ASM on the edge you have 2 CB's + Burn, 2 CM's and a CF able to attack the ball in the box...

    Burn 1.98
    Botman 1.93
    Isak - 1.92
    Schar 1.88
    Joelinton 1.86
    Bruno 1.82

Between just Burn and Botman to have 0 goals from corners this season is a travesty! Nearly 4 meters in combined height and no goals. I would assume most teams could figure out a way for one of these to be getting a goal or two from set pieces.
