Perhaps it's a little self-serving, but it's interesting to see what one of the squad members that wasn't playing has to say.
 
This is a little bit bridge-burny of Charlie, isn't it? I can't help but feel that he must be saying something that he knows a few others in the squad are likely to agree with.

He's very much talking about one of his ex-clubs.
 
Interesting that he is talking about "they" and not "we". Like you suggest, almost seems as though he is already out the door, just waiting for the ink to dry on a contract with Leverkusen or he is confident Harry won't be there next season so it doesn't matter if he upsets him.

I wonder which....

If, as some reports (that are bollocks...) are reporting, Harry will be leaving next week, so Corluka won't be playing for him again. On the other hand, the Bundesliga season ends on May 5th so, whilst in theory Corluka would be available for the Fulham game, we all know it would take an injury or suspension to Walker for him to feature in it - and even then, Harry may freeze him out and play Adam Smith.
 
He's not in our 25 man squad, so he couldn't play anyway, Croydon.
Don't think we left any spaces, either.
 
Does that free one up, Croydon? I haven't a clue whether you can do that or not, to be honest.
 
wow. Corluka is on the money!
To be fair, regardless of whether he's referring to us as "they", if i was in his position, I'd love to be saying "told you so". we never should have loaned him out. fairplay to him for saying what he thinks. he's 100% correct. (especially about the potential to finish 6th!!)
 
You may well think Corluka is "on the money", but there's two sides to every story. When Corluka had lots of personal problems earlier in the season, the club went out of their way to support him, even though he was a disruptive influence in the dressing room. He then pretty much demanded a transfer and at the time, the club were completely correct in letting him go, such was his negative influence on the other players. A bit tacky in my opinion for Corluka for coming out with cheap comments today, still that's the modern day footballer for you.

interesting spurcat, I never knew he was a disruption in the dressing room. always thought he was the sort to keep quiet and stay professional. in that case, yeah, absolutely right letting him go. but putting the personal issues aside, he's still correct about the rotation regardless of whether they are cheap comments.
 
Sorry, but you don't go public with disparaging comments about your manager, or any of your colleagues whilst you are still under contract to a club.
 
Some players are thick and believe they are better than they are. I find his comments a bit rich from someone who can't get a game at Leverkusen either, 4 apps!!! A whingy bitter Croat who's not playing would say that. If he said jump off a cliff...would you? Not very good PNP, a very poor pro rotation example...must do better! and I feel sorry for that you find his comment "interesting"! :D
 
It was said at the time that he joined that he was good mates with Luka. And if he wasn't happy then he'd be moaning to his mate, won't he? And no doubt still is, by the sound of it.

Makes me wonder about Modric's form of late and the fact that his mate, who is out of harm's way for the short term, is bad-mouthing the manager. Is it too much to wonder if some of Charlie's words reflect what Luka and maybe others are thinking/saying to each other?

It doesn't sound good at all. Jesus Christ we need a win to stop this bloody navel-gazing!

But a manager' job, in part, is to judge players. And his judgements of them are something that the press will ask about with good reason. It's not a player's job to judge their manager at all. And hence they're not asked to do so by the media (very often). So it's much more natural for managers to now and again come out with comments about players which might look harsh.

(I presume you're talking about the Bent miss about three years ago or so, the "if he could pass a nightclub..." comment on Gio that's also about three years old and one I can't remember right now about Pav. To be fair to Harry that's not terribly regular or malicious. Or even inaccurate in the case of the Bent miss).

If you're a Spurs fan I'd suggest that potential dressing room unrest and, even worse, collapse of discipline with players mouthing off in the press is very much something to be concerned with.

Even if you think Harry's made mistakes players thinking they can publicly undermine him will certainly not be the answer to our problems right now.
 
I think Corluka has not done anybody any favours and i dont know what provoked him...in all honesty Corluka comes across as a stroppy twat.

i recall that clip of him on youtube when the team is warming up and Sandro jumps infront of Corluka as they are jogging and Corluka gives him the glare and mutters something much to Sandro's bemused look.

a nothing incident but one that displayed Corluka's petulence.

I don't recall Harry going public with anything too critical unless the player was completely out of order. Anyway, his comments are unhelpful, and unwelcome, at a time when we all need to pull together.
I would be more concerned if there was any truth in the story at Goal.com about the players voicing their concerns, and dissatisfaction with Harry, through their agents. If there is ANY truth in that, it's highly worrying!
