i was disappointed to read in the shropshire star that the MOD who are selling this large site for housing and have made no provision within the sale to ring fence some properties for homeless veterans .

"Norman McGuiggan, of the Light Infantry Veterans campaign, said he was disappointed to hear news of the sale.“We have been left out of the loop,” he said"

to give you an idea of the scale of the problem there is 13,000 homeless veterans ,this is the second sale of MOD property in Shrewsbury they sold all the houses on Shorncliff Way many of which are rented out for example a two bedroom property for rent on this estate is £650 a month . many of these properties which would have been ideal starter homes and should have been ring fenced for locals.

is it any wonder young people cant get on the property ladder and without better support many of our veterans will remain homeless .

There DDefinitely need to be more shared ownership, affordable housing, not available to buy-to-let, and other such schemes for Shropshire.
