Exactly. Either uphold the original decision or quash it altogether - this is a mish mash compromise to appease both sides.
For a start, they should have had the 12 point deduction applied last season when it was imposed, not delayed until now with a minus 12 point start but still retaining Championship status.
Can't be arsed to look back at the history of last season's final table, but wouldn't they have gone down and Charlton or someone else stayed up?
Yep. They'd have gone down and to me this shows the EFL were never very confident of their findings in the first place hence their delay in deducting the points to this season. Can't understand the rationale for reducing the punishment. The Wendies are either guilty or not.

Well they shied off doing anything with other clubs with similar actions, e.g. Direby, so perhaps the Wendies felt hard done by.
Wendies should have used the same lawyers as Direby.
Contrast that with Giggs, who should avoid Depp's lawyers.
As we saw with EFL's lack of action in previous years, when QPR fielded an ineligible player against us, EFL really are a waste of space.
The EFL clubs have made a very good case for allowing 5 subs this season - see Harris' comments in yesterday's WoL article - but will EFL do anything? Will they Donald Duck?
