The world is ****ed and they know it..

The rich will **** off and hopefully fail in an attempt to colonise another innocent planet after they've left every ****er else to die here.

If they live the cheeky ****s will probably hold some kind of remembrance day to try and make themselves feel like better people after they **** the rest of the human race over completely.

Then in time nobody will give a **** and won't even bother observing a minutes silence.

That's it that's what's going to happen

But the effects will, on humans, be much greater than reduction in population growth and large scale social unrest. Not saying that that’s what you’re suggesting, but people have to realise just how serious and important this issue is in their lifetime. A WHO article sets some of it out.

That WHO summary you posted says that the effects will actually be a reduction in population growth (250000 deaths per year is actually a minimal effect on population growth) and pressure on land resources, due to crop failures, sea level rises, climate change reducing arable land availability. I might have been sounding a bit flippant but large scale social and political unrest due to land issues/resource issues is what leads to major conflicts. I think that is what is worrying the politicians more than the effects fossil fuels are having on the climate.

The problem the politicians have is that getting to net zero will have far greater impacts on individuals' lives and persuading/forcing them to make changes is going to be difficult as it will not do anything for their popularity.
