IMO he took over and rode on he back of Potters influence , we haven't played well since the Forest game at home and performances have been in steady decline since. Cooper thorough no fault of his own other than showing his limitations with to be honest a squad of limited players but the annoyance for me is that the core of that squad were playing infinitely better last season than they are now
I was at that one and it was the worst 100mns I’ve watched in a while. Utter tripe. As some have said, there seems to be little in the way of progression but we’re 3-pts from 5th and if we can do that playing sh1te then let’s hold our nerve and give him the window (plus implementation period).
No disresepct meant but too many think that the league table somehow makes everything ok , it doesn't imo , its a piss poor poor league with as we've all seen top beating each other along with the bottom beating the top and so on , this for me isn't about just this season but the future of the Club's immediate direction, as as long as the present regeime are still running the show then that will continue as we're seeing now ,leadersless both on and off the pitch.
None taken Matthew. I’ve said for a while that we need someone on the field to fight for, to go in the trenches with, we haven’t had a leader for years and our current capt. is not a leader of men. I, personally, will hold firm with the incumbent, and I trust Trevor, Alan and Leo to lead the business off the pitch. I also think 3-pts off 5th is something to hold on to and I’m certainly not naive in thinking that everything’s rosey as a result. It ain’t, but I’m not going to get caught in a cycle of sack, hire, bounce, sack. I’m holding my nerve until the the main 3, that are a lot closer to this than me, lose faith.
For me and my mates who are season ticket holders: Celina should play in the number 10 role. No ifs or buts.... We need pace and width ie not Ayew and Celina. Pick 2 wingers! Dyer, Routledge, Kakula, Pederson, even bloody McKay ..... Striker - Pick one of Ayew, Baston or Surridge...... Ayew for me! Cooper needs to grow a pair......
But Taff what I can't get my olde head around is where is the help from behind? From the clubs experienced backroom staff who had,it seems,a massive influence on his selection?
I agree 55 - what’s Marsh, for example, doing/saying/influencing? Or is he just blowing smoke up Cooper’s arse.......
It is starting to look like a Bradley rerun if you ask me, I am for him going out the exit door, unless he turns things around in the next few games, the squad might be weak, but they are better than this, Cooper looks to be out of his depth..............
Backwards since this........ Swansea City's Steve Cooper has been named EFL Championship manager of the month for August. His side were unbeaten in the opening month of the season, winning five and drawing one of their six games. Their 1-0 victory at previous leaders Leeds United on 31 August put them top of the table
