Cant believe there has been so little local media coverage on this, but then not even a thread on here. Potentially Hulls first ever world champ, bizarrely only a few weeks after Samir became Hull's first ever English champ, which has had little media attention. He is the clear underdog. Thoughts? Ps Roughly when is he on?
Linares one of the best out there. Luke has a real task on beating him. If he manages to do this it will be one of the best performances from a British boxer since Lloyd honeygon (spelling) went and kicked Donald Curry’s arse in America. At the time curry was ranked number one pound for pound and was thought to be unbeatable
He's on tonight / Sunday morning, programme starts 3am on Sky You're right there's been not enough local coverage at all He's a huge underdog in my view (just checked and bookies definitely agree Linaress 2/9 on) Difficult one though because he's not as young as he looks so he had to make a move up at some point Good luck Luke!
I'm pleased he's going for it , he's nearly 30 and if he waited a few more years people say he's too old , probably will lose but got to step up eventually and see how it goes
I agree but why has he took so long and why hasnt he fought the best in England first. He'll get battered too.
I'll post my predictions after the fight. It's a world title fight, so by definition should be hard. I think one thing that can be guaranteed, is that Luke won't be found lacking in commitment or heart.
There are only the Pursued , The Pursuing , The Busy, and the Tired , & Cool Hand will be one of those Adjectives.
I think Luke has more of a chance then people think. Although Linares is 32, he's a old 32. Tonight is his 45th fight.
I'm always shocked when I see his age. I still think he's some young lad, trying to make an impact. Linares is a monster, really tough one for Luke.
