Sorry if I'm not typing sense as I'm on my phone, but I would have happily picked up your package Godders.
Me and the gf take turns to drive, so we can both see how the cars works, and my seatbelt is done up, the car makes a bloody annoying in you don't do it within a few seconds.
I have just got back from the Post Office and am several £s the poorer. I have also just finished my lunch and guess what I had? That's right sandwiches and guess what it would appear I am having for my dinner this evening? Yep you've got it, sandwiches again. I found it strange that the sandwiches had a sort of soapy flavour. I don't know where that came from.
I used to enjoy my trips to Swansea. When entering the Newport Tunnel I used to wave at the mole and of course I had to wave at the dragon once I had crossed the old Severn Bridge.
Perhaps we could organise a not606 outing...charabanc and everything. Might be a bit of a squeeze and, with the spats on here, the seating plan might be a nightmare.
We should go to the Isle of Wight. I haven't been there for many years and the last I heard they were still using £sd so I should be able to get rid of a load of coins I have had since pre decimilisation days. Fran could lay on tea at her place to save us having to take a hamper. I hear she only works part time so she should be able to manage that. I wont want any of those diet muffins she buys though.
Talking of picnics, I have just been cutting the holly and privet hedge back so that I can hang some bunting out for the Jubilee bash, I was going to use my old Union Flag, but it has "1976 Southampton FA Cup Winners" scrawled over it in marker pen so not really appropriate, last years Promotion Saint Georges flag is OK I have cleaned it up. Pass the Coronation Chicken sandwiches and a few cans of Stella and it's time for celebration on several scales.
Chapel Saint 07 Godders, you're right, Swansea if a magnificent place. Can you recommend anywhere to go? I have a friend who lives in Birchgrove, not sure you'd enjoy it too much tho, it's just fields, drunk people, and babies. You should however go to Swansea's old stadium - Vetch Field. They kept the centre circle in place as people's ashes are there and last I heard people grow potatoes on it.
Have some Ice Cream at Joe's Ice Cream Parlour in Limeslade just past Mumbles Pier. It is delicious. Wander around Mumbles and play the slot machines on the pier. Drive down to Rhossili Bay and visit one of Britains best beaches. Visit the Covered Market in the city centre and eat some cockles. Stay at the Oxwich Bay Hotel on the Gower or just have a drink there. It is right on the beach and is a lovely spot. Visit the Uplands and see where Dylan Thomas lived and visit Cwmdonkin Park where he played as a boy and which features in some of his work. Visit the Museum and the Marina. I think all of that should keep you busy.
We are definitely going to the beach and pier, and the market, then we'll see what time it is where we want to go. Thanks very much, and enjoy those sandwiches
