The daddy of them all was 'Je t'aime, moi non plus' by Serge Gainsberg and Jane Birkin. I can't find the original video now, but it was quite beautiful. When it went No.1 around February, 1969, Top of the Pops threatened to play an instrumental version instead of the original. Gainsberg said he would sue them for misrepresenting the facts, so the BBC played neither. The end result of which was far more people bought the Gainsberg-Birkin version just to hear it !
