Still a long way to go before a decision is made on how this season ends and the next starts. There is no view on how lockdown ends let alone sport starts. I think it was mentioned briefly elsewhere that this will cross contract boundaries (end june), but also loan periods. We have a couple players whose contracts end, and loanees who will return to their parent clubs, at the end of june, when we could still be playing 2019/20 league games beyond that point. How would we fare and how would others, relying far more on loanees than us, fare also? Some teams could see their playing staff decimated before we get back to playing.
I think I saw a view that loans will be extended to whenever the season ends. Hope so. Lose Albert and Sanderson and get Bogle back?
I suppose it comes down to the players as well. Will the whole transfer window move? What if a loanee gets a permanent move elsewhere? What if a loanee is a free agent come the end of June? What if a player is out of contract and you dont want to keep them? It all gets very messy.
I was also wondering about this. We could really benefit from this IF the season restarts we will have Afobe back fit and ready for the final push! Seriously though I can see this season being written off.
Hey Red And White. Its an odd one. If you write the season off, a few teams might go bump. Teams that have ploughed a load of cash into this season and fail to go up might find next season a struggle. With cash tight in all teams I can see transfer fees falling so teams won't be able to sell their way out of the problem. On the down side, do you have any players who's contracts are up in June, or loanees who return to parent clubs? You might gain some, but lose others. We'd likely get NML and Tomlin back fit but would lose our loanees if it goes past June. Its a right bugger's muddle.
