Reading his views on the Spurs squad this morning I wonder if they've struck a chord with Pearson. Conte's surprised about the level of quality within the squad he's inherited and reckons he needs higher quality players brought in ASAP. He also mentioned the fantastic ground and training facilities, we've heard the same from Gould about us.
Spurs and City are on different planets but improvements are relative.
Numerous quotes were interesting but 1 really stood out.

'I'm not a magician '.

It would be nice to be able to buy our way into glory. Unfortunately, we are constrained by FFP, whereas Spurs are not.
Also, Spurs have a footballing 'pedigree' whereas City are in Bristol - a nice city, but a footballing backwater. We may as well be on the Scilly isles. Spurs are in the capital - no contest. QPR or Watford would be a more attractive club to play for than Bristol City.
Premiership-level players would choose any of the current Premiership clubs over us - even Burnley - even if the money we were offering was the same - or better.
We are swimming against the tide. I'm not saying it CAN'T be done, I'm saying that it will be very hard for us to BUY our way into the Prem with established players. Players would only see us as a stepping stone to the Premiership rather than the vehicle to take them there.
Sad I know, but I'm afraid that's what I think.
The challenges facing both clubs may be similar but the solutions will be very different.

Conte says that everywhere he goes. He can only manage if he gets £100's of millions to spend.

We've had our chances to join the elite and stay there before FFP was invented and we still hesitated and lost out.
